- Three boys and two men were shot Thursday at a barbershop in East Garfield Park on the West Side, authorities said.
Two people walked into the barbershop about 6:15 p.m. in the 200 block of North Pulaski Road, looked around and walked back out, Chicago police said. Then they fired shots into the shop from outside.
An 11-year-old boy was hit in the back, abdomen and left arm, police said. Another boy, 16, was shot in the hip, while a third boy, 12, was struck in the knee.
Of course, if the commander of 011 wasn't utilizing cars for foot patrol on the blocks where he and his wife own buildings, perhaps they would be available to prevent shootings? Any reporters want to FOIA that info?

OT: I was at the Ammie Kessem fund raiser last night. A lot of police officers there making out checks. Also there were a lot of coppers signing up to flip to Republicans. I’ll be there but still have to vote in the democratic primary against Foxx. But I’ll looking to get a Trump sign come Labor Day. Voting for Trump was one of the best votes I have ever made. He wrote people up for fucking up. Maybe bullshit fuck ups but none the less, still screwing up. It will be your bosses that may or may not SPAR you. The report comes back and then it is investigated. If you have even a half asses excuse your boss may just make the infraction go away. So learn the system to protect yourself and not post half assed stuff like this.

I recall just about every barbershop on the West side to be a center of some sort of illegal activity; gambling, drug sales, fence for stolen goods, after hours liquor sales etc. It seems that barbershops in the black community are a social gathering place for good and for bad.

There is ZERO reason for the department to promote people with scandalous backgrounds to exempt positions.

A lot of these progressive groups can only come up with some general non-solution solutions, like better community relations, less poverty, more jobs, more trust with the police, etc. None of which have any immediate impact. I have never heard of any of these progressive groups that have a plan to reduce violence today or tomorrow. None.

The NRA is the red herring of the progressives. They are always "taking on the NRA". But that means nothing. The real story that they refuse to acknowledge is that the citizens do not support draconian gun laws and want the current gun laws enforced. The voters know this and the political class know this, but the blame goes to the NRA, which in the grand scheme of things plays a small role.
