FOP Endorses Pfannkuche
- The union representing Chicago police officers on Tuesday endorsed Republican Christopher Pfannkuche for Cook County state’s attorney.
The Chicago Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 7, which represents rank-and-file Chicago police officers, backed Pfannkuche, who faces Pat O’Brien, a former Democratic Cook County Judge, on the Republican ballot in the March primary.
So O'Brien is obviously a plant - former democrat our ass.
A number of readers have pointed out that democrats control Cook County by a wide margin, so for the general election, Pfannkuche is starting in a massive hole. The best (and maybe only chance) to get rid of Crimesha is in the primary. That would entail a massive effort to educate CPD voters to pull a democratic primary ballot - not something we would suggest lightly - and vote for someone other than Crimesha.
It would take quite a few votes to pull this off, but harnessing the anger of the regular voters could produce exactly this desirable outcome and a better chance than in the general election. With Crimesha out, it would be a free-for-all and an election decided more on the issues.

Duh. And yes. I always vote in the Democrat Primary so at least I have some say (or the feeling I have some say at least) in local politics. Things is, you all need to PICK ONE person to select as the alternative to Foxx. Pick one and I'll vote for them.

Conway's new commercials are playing torwards the Ghetto Kim electorate, calling himself a "progressive" and a "social justice" candidate. Between Conway Fioretti and Moore, that should be enough white candidates to split the anti Foxx vote and land her the nomination

SCC, it goes without saying what most of us think about replacing FOXX. This is one endorsement FOP go right. I'm still baffled by what they did to O'Toole and even more, how they treated him. One of the Board members even mocked Daniel O'Toole by calling him "Peter O'Toole".
Secondly, relative to FOP, there was a "Candidate's meeting" tonight. The usual suspects attempted to convince the Election Committee to violate the Letter of the Law and violate their own policy and By-Law. Even after the Arbitrator made his ruling! The Election Committee held their ground and accommodated reasonable and logical requests or "protests". Most candidates left the meeting feeling that this will be a fair process and looking forward to more information in the near future. But what some are already planning, is and will be an unfair campaign full of dirt, mud and lies and cheats.
So, most of us hope your readers realize there are two sides to every story. If we don't have both sides to every story, we should question the source of the information (like we do when we are subject of a CR). Start by questioning a group who doesn't back their own members.
Well said SCC. I’ve been saying this for years. The only way to get rid of the Democrat you don’t care for is in the primary. They understand this and plant other candidates to split the votes they know their not getting anyway.
Sound advice. No one with an “R” next to their name can beat Kim foxx and the machine in a general election. Best if it’s bill Conway vs a republican in the general election and have a chance at something resembling order in the states attorneys office. We’re all doomed if crimesha makes it into the big show again. The vast majority of cook county voters just want to eat the “D”.

I don’t know about O’Brien being.a plant but he is the only qualified candidate running. Former Chief of Criminal Bureau. He’s everything you’d want in a State’s Attorney. Pfannkucke is an oddball who had a very undistinguished career and never got past second chair in the suburbs. He didn’t handle big cases ever. It wasn’t political since he didn’t advance under multiple administrations.
As to the Democrats, Fioretti has no business even running with zero prosecutorial experience. Why is Donna More even running? She fell on her face last time. Conway is unimpressive and is pandering for the progressive vote at least he’s not Foxx.
Cook county voters only get aroused when someone taxes their soda pop other than that they are too stupid to vote out Kimmee. Besides a republican will NEVER get elected in Cook County much less when you can’t pronounce Phannkuche. ♠️
Conway has best chance of beating Foxx March 17th. He has the money. You must pull a Dem ballot and get her out. After that, vote for whoever you’d like. The only reason Conway is throwing out the word progressive is to get the undecideds to vote for him. He can beat her in round 1. Vote for him.

I’m a republican conservative. I’d be willing to vote for the least desirable Democrat candidate this Feb to give Pflancheffe (how the hell do you spell it?). That way he has a better chance of winning. I’m voting for him because he is already saying he’ll be tough on crime. Will he win? I doubt it this is Chicago.

O'Brien was previously employed by Cook County State's Attorneys Bernard Carey, Jack O'Malley, and Illinois Attorney General Jim Ryan. All of these elected prosecutors were Republicans.
Presidents Reagan and Trump were both former Democrats. For what is worth, Elizabeth Warren and Michael Bloomberg are both Democrats who formerly claimed to be Republicans.
Pfannkuche is a well meaning individual who has little or no chance of winning in November. He was clobbered by Foxx four years ago. This is why the bipartisan combine wants him nominated as he looks to be a pushover.
I kind of disagree with you on this. With 4 people running in the democratic primary Fox is pretty much a show in. The people that want her out with be splitting their votes between 3 dummies that are too stupid to have 2 of them drop out so it is a one on one race. The best chance will be in the general election when it will be a one on one race and there will be people that don’t have a problem voting for a democrat. Remember that there was a guy named James O'Malley that ran that office after winning a special election after Daley became Mayor.
I've puled a democratic ballot in the primary for many elections. That was to try and ensure a better democratic candidate was running in the general election. Then voted independently in the general election.

Well King will have a lot more time on his hands. He can do a cold case investigation into his two (2) lost canine dogs.

If Kim Foxx wins the democratic primary, she will win the general election. Best chance to get rid of her is in the primary. There will be a huge anti-Trump vote in the general election and those voters will likely vote a straight democrat ticket.
I'm a Trump supporter, but crossing over in the primary. Two reasons are to get rid of John Arena's proteges and vote against Foxx.
