Fixx for Foxx
- Handing a small victory to Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, the hearing officer who listened to arguments on whether her nominating petition to run for office was legitimate, has recommended the first-term prosecutor stay on the ballot in her bid for reelection, records show.
Foxx’s nominating petition signatures had been challenged in an effort to keep her name off the March 17 primary election ballot in Cook County.
Objectors argued that Foxx had too many invalid signatures in her petition and that represented a “pattern of fraud,” but hearing officer Barbara Goodman wrote in her decision that they didn’t provide evidence to support their claim. After reviewing all 20,762 of the signatures submitted by Foxx’s team, 10,121 were deemed valid, which put her well above the necessary needed to run for reelection, Goodman determined.
So 10,641 were invalid? Excuse our grade school math, but that's a bit more than half. That kind of fraud deserves some sort of investigation and for the top prosecutor in Cook County, it definitely deserves some sort of explanation. A lengthy explanation for starters as to why she needed so many fraudulent signatures were even collected if she had enough to qualify.

The biggest share of excluded signatures are from people who are registered at a different address. (That is, they moved since the last time they registered.) Others are from real people who aren't registered. A few seemed to have been faked by somebody passing a petition. The rule among election attorneys giving advice is collect 3 times as many as required in order to get enough valid ones.
I dislike Foxx immensely. But this isn't a sign of her campaign committing fraud. It's a sign they didn't gather the recommended 3X, leaving her vulnerable because of all the normal ways signatures fail.

Foxx and Carbonargi were on the same petitions. How can he have 14,000 invalid signatures and she have only 10,000 invalid signatures? Same signatures!
Go after the circulator and the notary. Get either of those 2 and the candidate falls as well.

As Bob Fioretti’s campaign manager, I want to say that only in Cook County could the sitting State’s Attorney submit more than 50% invalid signatures, including thousands ruled “not genuine” which is code language in elections for possible forgery, and remain on the ballot. The system is as rigged for the insiders as it has always been. I also want to thank all of our dedicated volunteers who discovered the pattern of fraud on Kim Foxx’s petitions during hundreds of hours poring over them.

And on a side note......in NYC, where they too have the “No black or brown in Jail” motto, a FOUR time bank robber was released
on a no bail promise to return for court......the very next day, he robbed a FIFTH bank.....

It’s the standard practice learned from Camp Prickwrinkle to have paid stoolies go through the residents list at senior homes, church memberships, old voter polling lists and benefits offices to garner names and addresses, many of which used three and four different residences and Chicago Cook Co Board of Elections records are never, ever updated or purged.
They should have focused on purging these BOE lists.

I would like to know of Foxx recused herself and her office from serving on County Officers Electoral Board? The State's Attorney is supposed to be a member of that electoral board along with the Clerk and the Clerk of the Circuit Court. In the event of a conflict, the Sheriff or Treasurer are supposed to fill in.
Foxx is so unpopular that the Democrats decided that she needed to be placed on a joint petition with Michael Cabonargi (the candidate for Circuit Court Clerk). Toni Preckwinkle realized many voters would refuse to to circulate or sign petitions for Foxx alone, so Cabonargi had to carry her across the line.
There is a petition pend to appoint a special prosecutor filed by a former AUSA George Jackson and the case will be heard later this month. The purpose is to investigate the fraud in her petitions.
