Hopefully, this couple gets a jury of people who have experienced similar crimes and are fed up with criminals being given walks.
- A Visalia [California] couple allegedly lured thieves with an unsecured bike and then beat them with baseball bats, police say.
Corey Curnutt, 25, and Savannah Grillot, 29, were arrested Wednesday and face charges of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy, TV station KGPE reported. The couple repeated the trap multiple times from July to November last year and posted the videos of the beatings on YouTube and Facebook, police say.
Neighbor Kerris LeBeau told KGPE that initially there was support on Dove Avenue for the couple, but then they “started to bait them and do it for other reasons.”
“There would be blood in the street or on the sidewalks the next day,” she said.

Nice try, but people engaged in this type of activity are likely rotten people in other, felonious ways. I am sure if you were in that town, these two asshats would have been "known to police". Save your medals for people who actually deserve it.
theres a couple of guys on You Tube who place unsecured "bait Bikes" in various locations and then use various methods to make the thieves sorry they tried to take the bikes.

If you ever run across something similar, it would be a real pity if you screwed up custody of the evidence, or acquired it through something a defense attorney could say was an illegal search, requiring quashing the evidence.
Don't Try this on the beat or at home folks.

Wow Reminds me of a story about a guy years ago who was tired of his car breakins, so he electrified the car. The criminal sued and his town filed charges. He served/serving time in a very notorious state pen. The criminal walked away free as a bird. Happened in the south of all places.
There's another story about a guy naked in his own house, with cutains open, and kids cutting across his lawn. Hre had no trespassing signs. Kids parents had him arrested and he's also doing time for being naked in his own home and peopke trespassing his property. No i would have closed the drapes but, letting the sun shine on your privates in your own home is your right.
We have no rights anymore. Xcept the right to bend over and take it.
Sounds like a great date night. Put the bike on the front lawn, hide behind the curtains, wait for the crackhead to swipe the bike, and then give him a pumpkin head with a louisville slugger. Get a case of beer, pop some popcorn, and watch the video all night, awesome.

These two will either get life or the chair. The bike thief's will say they they were just trying to support their drug habits and the CA government should give them their drugs for free so bad people don't beat them up for just trying to support their addictions.

WTF would I do that? Then when they are found NG they turn around and sue and Im named as a defendant.

Ahhh yes, that would be a pity. It would be a shame, even. But sometimes we get a little sloppy with our work. Shame.
While I can understand frustration that people have being victims of any type of crime, this alarms me in many ways.
To me, this became a sporting event for these two......they enjoyed doing it, they video recorded it, then stupidly
posted it. This smacks of some real sick shit on their part. They are very lucky not to have killed someone.....over a bicycle!
Sorry, SCC, my take on this is way different......I hope they both get some jail time.

I think using baseball bats is where they went wrong. Baseball bats paint a bad picture. Should have used a frying pan or rubber hose. Something like that. Still beat them but use a different tool.

Nice try, Mr Nice try but I’ll take my justice anyway and by anyone who has the balls to stand up to criminals. Who cares if these people are as you say “Rotten people” even though I’m confident they are not. Seems you have some social justice DNA within you.
That is what I call "Restorative Justice." If more citizens did that crime would decrease exponentially.
If it is not legal it should be.

The female is a sailor assigned to the Lemoore Naval Station. So not sure about your theory. The problem with these two people is that they had to have attention and posted it to social media and yt. They liked the attention so much they kept baiting their traps. Another couple of adolescent-adults wanting attention, pats on the back and to be youtube stars.
If the feral kept coming back for easy pickins’ you’d think someone with a few knots on their head would have put the stay away order out on the street.
I looked up Visalia, largest city in Tulare Co. and apparently there are 51,000 registered voters and 51% are Republicans and Tulare County, voted strong MAGA, firebrands U.S. Reps Nunez and McCarthy districts are within.
Aside from a dwindling economy, small business closings and high rent - what else is new anywhere in California... the #1 problem is homelessness.
Bottom line: The vagrant will not likely be showing up for court and guessing the biggest complaint (one Dem on the block) was the blood on the sidewalk.
