- Incensed by allegations of child abuse in the death of an infant in his ward , Ald. Ray Lopez (15th) fired off an incendiary tweet suggesting parents be licensed before having kids. “Tired of these sick bastards killing babies because they are too immature to be parents,” Lopez tweeted Thursday about the child abuse case in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood he represents. “Time to start requiring childbirth licensing, conception fees or toddler escrows in order to be a parent. If love doesn’t motivate good behavior, perhaps hitting their pockets will.”
Contacted Friday, Lopez said he was serious and, if there was any possible way to legally implement parental licensing or conception fees, he would do it. But he acknowledged it’s not possible. Not in America, anyway.
Anyone know how the aldercreature would intend (if possible) to regulate and enforce this? Are there some creepers/perverts on the City Council? More than the usual ones we mean.

What does feminism have to do with good parenting. I’m a female and never had children. A big reason is because I don’t think Id have been a good parent. People look shocked when I tell them this. It doesn’t mean I’m a bad person, but good parenting requires really special skills that aren’t in my wheelhouse. I’m happy I made my decision...no regrets from this boomer.

Agree 100%! I’ve been saying it for years; you need a license for everything hunting, fishing, driving, gun ownership. Why not for reproduction? The city pays for schools, school buses, parks, etc. for these kids
If you have 5 kids, you should pay more in taxes than if you have no kids.

Just like the FBI no longer quantifies rape statistics by race (victim vs offender), the birth study data had NO quantification as to citizen vs illegal, nor by race. Just a simple percentage of how many births in USA were born under the auspices of Medicaid/welfare.
I suppose that data is not given so no one really knows WHAT the American taxpayer is paying for, thus alleviating the taxpayers rage at
how their money is being spent, and on whom.
