who's stupid idea is those seat belt check missions. ? so stupid. all they do is expose more police and citizens to danger. they do nothing else and they are demoralizing for officers trying to do their real job safely. STUPID leaders up top!

That piece of shit commander varrick Douglas came into roll call yelling at officers who refused to give their own personal mask to some shithead at a domestic. Some violent shithead, who has covid, was spitting at his baby moma. The shithead told police if they don’t want him spitting on her, And everyone in the house, they better give him their mask. Coppers put shithead under arrest for spitting and beating his baby moma. as they were putting him in the car, old varrick shows up. He berated the officers and orders them to let the offender go. Varrick shows up in roll call next day, yelling about how officers “have a duty to give their mask up if someone needs it.” He then tells roll that we have it good, and the community has taken enough abuse from police. Turns out, the shithead involved in the domestic is related to that bumbling idiot Douglas.

When this virus is said and done it would make an interesting research project to compare crime during the virus to the same time frame in the past years. You would be able to get rid of the BS numbers like Reckless conduct, gang loitering, obstructing traffic, most drug charges, etc... during the virus. You get what I mean. Anyways it would be interesting to see what areas and demographics commit the most violent crimes regardless of whats going on in society and with all the tact teams not making minor arrests. Even though there are some tact and gang teams still doing the BS arrest for the most part they are actually going after Guns and Robbers. I think after this is done there should be a review of how district manpower is deployed and if we really need all the tact and gang teams.

Douglas apparently is emotionally stunted, frightened and insecure in his person and position. During stressful situations as described these manifestations are uncontrollably exhibited for all to see. He immediately resorts to his rank and position to publicly berate those of lesser position. His security blanket is his rank. His roll call rantings, illogical statements and threats demonstrate his failings for all to see. His poor leadership and decision making ordering the officer's release of the offender (friend/family) giving up PPE speaks volumes as to the character, self respect and judgement of Douglas. Another poor choice degrading the CPD for years to come.

I see what you’re saying but it would be a flawed conclusion either way. Too many variables not taken into account. The only variable taken into account is the lower level arrests being made and not being made. In this hypothetical do only the teams that get significant amounts of guns and robbery arrests get to stay as teams? What about teams that do narcotics surveillance’s and get a lot of arrests for class x delivery? What about long term investigation narcotic teams? Narcotics is the main driving force of violence in Chicago, no matter how much the bosses like to think it isn’t. Not trying the be a dick, sincerely making the comment,

I totally get your point. I'm not saying get rid of all tact and Gangs. Its actually nice to see them more concentrated on violent crimes instead of MCCs. And I support giving teams time to work on long term investigations but unfortunately the bosses want number NOW! Yes, it would be a hard study but i think some useful data may be drawn from it. When you say entering the 3rd year it happens after you have completed 2 full years...one day over is entering the 3rd year...after the full 3 years is completed, i.e. 1 July 2020 you will be entering year 4..the key word is "entering" not "completed"...google the definition and concept
