Ya well while this gesture is cool, he still spouts that police are terrorists on his daily slave reparation commercials on AM560. Who im very surprised actually play the ad to begin with. Since he believes so strongly in reparations for descendants of slaves shouldnt we all get some, since practically every culture was enslaved at some point...jews, irish, hispanic, native american, russian, muslim countries, korean, the list goes on.

For starters: are POs buying and wearing your own face masks nowadays? So no one is going to get in the way when FOP distributes the masks Mr. Wilson sent over?
Question: would some version of these plastic face shields ( see the link below ) be useful to POs to have in the car? Or Wwuld they just get in the way and possibly increase risk when dealing with combative or upset citizens?
There are some designs which are disposable, and the raw material plastic costs as little as $0.40 per shield. So total cost of manufacture and delivery might be, say, 60-80 cents per unit, just for a guess.
Would the brass just take these away?
Would some kind of Goggle (no, not that kind!) be better -- if it could be made more secure and fit over eyeglasses, to supplement the nose/mouth masks?

Willie Wilson is doing more stuff for us than the person who is in charge of the city. You know what’s burning her up? She worked for that defunct organization and she wanted to price that the police were bad and now she needs us to be on the street. It doesn’t fit her agenda.

Wilson gets points for this, but his ads on AM 560 in the morning about a month ago were outrageous.
Wilson backs a bill currently in the Illinois legislature for yet more reparations to the community for the familiar list of ancient historical grievances, as well as some new trendy ones such as "damage done by the war on drugs" -- yes, you heard that right, the community gets upset when you put drug dealers that have ravaged their neighborhoods in prison. The best line in the ad was Wilson saying that this new round of reparations -- as distinct from the reparations we've been paying the community since the 1960s through affirmative action, minority set asides, food stamps, WIC, LINK, Medicaid, etc. -- would "build generational wealth" for the community. I nearly spit out my coffee when I first heard that one. In other words, wealth built painstakingly over generations by working people would be ripped out of their hands through taxes and simply handed to the community in another round of never ending confiscatory redistribution of money. To Mr. Wilson, I say NO. Not gonna happen without a fight. It's.....simply.....wrong. Not only that, it reinforces the divisions, Mr. Wilson. Think about that.
Wilson's ads ran on Proft's show and the silence from Proft was deafening. Yeah, it would've been in bad form to criticize a paying advertiser, but I would've loved to hear Proft's free comments about it.
I used to see Wilson as a bridge builder, a man brave enough to walk his own line.
Not so anymore. Just more of the same.

All this donated equipment and I only got one mask, had to buy my own sanitizer, Lysol wipes, and gloves. Definite hoarding going on. This department has become a joke.
Bunch of supplies dropped off in 011 went missing
Other than 1 expired small squirt bottle of hand sanitizer then a couple weeks later we're given 1 disposable body suit, we haven't seen any further supplies from the department or city. Where are all these items being passed out or stored so maybe we can get our hands of some?

Voted for him myself. Know a lot of police (all races/ethnicities) that did. I sincerely hope he runs again. The media likes to play it like he’s almost a “joke” candidate, but I’d really like to see what he could do. I hope he gets a really savvy campaign manager to give him a little more of a push.

Thanks for finally explaining what those radio commercials were about. I've heard them, but never understood one word he was saying. He's obviously a nice, caring man, but he talks like he has a mouth full of Jelly-Belly Pritzker's crap in his mouth.

This post is a thank you for this act and not his past, present or future bias or implicit bias. I remember him saying Whitey as he referred to White people, but that didn't stop me from getting a mask snd saying thank you for doing this for us today
