- Dr. Martin Lucenti once practiced in the emergency room at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and he has treated soldiers at combat hospitals in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now, he’s the medical director of Vizient, one of dozens of contractors the city of Chicago is turning to for help in dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. Vizient just landed a city contract for up to $2.5 million to help operate the field hospital at McCormick Place, which began accepting patients Tuesday.
“Basically, we stood up a health care system under the city in very short order with licensure and DEA and all of those things,” Lucenti said. “You can imagine a city trying to get in the business of trying to procure medical equipment and drugs and so forth. There’s just no expertise.”
So far, $65 million has been budgeted for the city’s emergency response; $5.6 million has been spent, according to the mayor’s office. The city’s emergency vendors include a suburban mirror company making masks and a doctor who worked for the Chicago Blackhawks and is supplying coronavirus test kits.
Believe it or not, the reporters actually point out a goodly number of companies in line to receive hundreds of thousands, even millions of dollars pf taxpayer funds. It's an interesting read and exactly what reporters should be doing across all fields so that voters can decide for themselves if money is being spent wisely.

Relatively no questions have been asked when the taxes were raised continually, new revenue streams were constantly added, the level of debt continued to grow BIGGER & BIGGER! I'm sure we can trust our congress that it will all be accounted for! Lots of companies giving the test but only a handful processing the test kits. Took 12 days for my results to become available! How many people did I work with during that time.... btw I was positive.

The City itself had very little to do with putting up the field hospital it was the federal government. Same with the field hospitals in NY. The Army Corp of Engineers was a big part of it. Lightfoot and Pritzker just jumped on the bandwagon to it claim as their work.
What will they do if the money budgeted is not used?
This will be in line with the previous city scandals,hired truck and the 1978 snow removal and tow. Someone will flip and the line to the MCC will be forming. It might take awhile but it will happen.
The city doesn’t look in the yellow pages for vendors. Only politically connected vendors get selected. Then these same vendors kick back donations to the very politicians who helped secure their contracts.

Small businesses are getting screwed.
Shake Shack was exposed for taking 20 million for their "small business." Someone put the heat on them and they returned it.
Ruth's Chris Steakhouse has an online petition to get them to return 50 million they took as a "small business" As of now it has not been returned.
These are just two examples of corporations screwing the little guy.
Contracts to all kinds of people and companies to provide PPE's?
Just the tip of the iceberg.
Oh an will someone tell Nancy Pelosi (POS) that her ice cream vendor is a small business, although with the way Nancy buys ice cream I doubt they'll ever go out of business.

McCormick Place "medical facility" is serving a double purpose: 1) Trojan horse "field hospital", for usual connected companies and folks to get fat contracts from Fed funds; 2) hasten lakefront McCormick Place building's demolition for casino or new convention building.
City Hall, regardless of administration, has wanted to place building, so it can grant Walsh Construction and usual clouted contractor/developer/supplier their pay-back contracts. Building will be determined to be "infected", regardless how many Covid cases actually ever get housed there. Ditto for that hotel on East Superior Street. It's not about "contagion"; nope, it's the Chicago Way: never let a crisis go to waste/always take care of clouted folks.
And nope, the Feds won't investigate the corruption - it's too vast, too pervasive, too accepted by local media and our voter-base.

FYI, if you've had a flu shot in the past, your results may be a false-positive if tested for the CV. So keep that
in mind.
Same with type A & type B flu, prior vaccinations can result in false positives.

Vizient is a $2.5 mil contractor hired on to help, not do it all, sort and provide outsourced materials logistics NOT healthcare. They’re the peanut gallery calling balls and strikes of how much to spend, who to buy from and then where to put it....in a pop-up makeshift temporary recovery room that so far has probably 500 staffers sitting around waiting from the 40,000 sickly to show up. Any day now.
I recall President Donald J Trump offered Military doctors, nurses, aides and staff to assist the operations at the MacCormick’s Infirmary.
My guess is that Larri & JB took the Fed money, turned this down US Military contingent unit in favor of enlisting local Donors to pilfer the gubmint dime.
The pandemic is almost completely over. That gubmint money has to be spent and if you notice most has been spent only in these last 10 days and we’ve been closed, lockdown since March 21st. The city and state need at least another month to spent the rest and more.
Not a f-cking cent will be saved. Sure as shit no stockpile will be created or maintained for the IL Dems early October Surprise when the Covid’s Hoax Shutdown will make its second coming.
