Missed This Mixed Message

The supernintendo interviewed on WGN the other day and this tidbit was contained within:
  • Just saw Brown on WGN. He said he wants all his officers to be visible and doesn’t like unmarked cars and officers in civilian dress. What does that mean for tact, gang, and specialized units?

I watched it, too. However I cannot reconcile his 'trust building and xbox'n with the kids' campaign with surge parades.

Nothing says trust like sending an armada of cops from other districts to intimidate black neighborhoods cross town, right?
That is a valid point - how do you preach "building trust" and then you send one hundred or more cops with blue lights and sirens into the neighborhood? And now with "summer mobile" and "surge" units on the drawing board, how exactly is that going to create anything but another "occupying army" type of vibe?

Here’s some “trust” for you.
I “trust” that no matter what we do to help folks we will always be called “racist”.
I “trust” that we will always be the scapegoat for all that is wrong in their community and their families.
I “trust” that the public school system will continue to pollute theIr minds with their leftest agendas.
I “trust” that the Democratic Party will be the demise of this country.
Why don’t we start with those trusts.

I thought community policing is where the police are assigned to an area and get to know the residents. Not come in hot from other districts and have lights and sirens going. This is an armed take over. Units will not be in neighborhoods long enough to get to know anyone. This strategy is coming from the top. He will be gone and the community will hate the police for bad interaction. This is just so wrong.

I know lawsuit payouts happen, and no politician or boss will stand up to the truth. if you want to rid Chicago of shootings - you must allow police pursuits. it's the ugly truth. until then. with all the tinted windows and fake addresses attached to
registrations/stolen cars theres no way pods, or cameras can solve those homicides & shootings. once the criminals know they can shoot & murder in front of us without a chase, then the killings will really began. because the truth is- they can, why? because a sgt will terminate all pursuits. there is no reason for anyone to pull over for a Chicago Police car with the current orders in place. this is the point, please stop these missions & talk of lower the murder rates if you don't address the current orders, harsh disipline & use of force that hinder this dept from preventing & solving crime.

Ol Out of Town Brown has popped up a few times in the Facebook and in the local media, it is just me or does it seem like anytime he speaks about the department he seems to be apologizing or ashamed. There is a video in particular of him on Facebook talking about following the guidelines of consent decree give it a watch and see if you pick up on his shame.

Moondawg likes to open his yap to much. 30 plus years worth of law enforcement experience should have taught him that nobody cares about what he thinks or wants. Having been here long enough to see that this place is run worse than a drive thru at a white castle at 0400 hrs, quietly make some changes to make things better. Stop with all the grandstanding and stop kissing toads tail.

The uniform part is easy to get away with because it doesn't cost the city anything. The unmarked cars is a whole other issue though. I was informed the price difference between marked and unmarked is about $30k. So just to put tact (POs, Sgt, Lt), Captains, and Commanders of the 22 districts into marked rather than unmarked is roughly $10 million extra. That's not counting gang teams, and OCD (whatever is left), exempts, or other random units that currently use unmarked cars.

He can’t see or he’s not allowed to put it on the real problem, so until then we’ll just put it on the police.

It appears we have another boss who obviously has little to no real street experience. The benefits of unmarked cars in arresting criminals is huge, but he is following his political orders and wants the police to stop crime by presence and not by arrest and prosecution. Restorative justice rears its ugly head again. And the result? More dead black people, but they just don't care as long as they keep getting voted into office. Fox's next platform for reelection will be no more incarceration for criminals (especially black ones, wink wink)

Downtown Brown is obviously in over his head already. The mistake with the last few Supt. is that no one was promoted from within. That's how trust is built with the rank and file. CPD needs a Supt that has balls to give the officers a green light to do their jobs decree or no decree

What worked in Dallas won’t work in Chicago.
This was proven with experiences of what was done coming in from the FBI, what was done coming from NJ and NYC, and of course what didn’t work with illegal DanRyan peace marching by uniformed CPD community activists.

If there’s no cooperation from Cook County and the likelihood of being fired for doing your job - what’s the point of tactical plain clothes? Can I get a CCX from my laptop at home in my PJ’s? Yes.

There are folks stigmatized by the sight of uniforms, it’s why Lari keeps us visible.
I have one with ball-headed superintendents.
There’s even more stigmatism with molle outfitted, hard charging, eager for activity retention numbers, plainclothes storm troopers. They may as well figure to disband K9, SWATzies and airport police while they’re at it.
C.L.O.W.N.S and staff are needed.

If there’s a way to placate the community and further demoralize the rank and file, Larri’s Hashed Brown will find a way.
Job still pays the same, any watch, any unit, all day-all night.

If you don’t prosecute the offenders and hold them accountable for their action, not only does nothing change, it emboldens them to continue and encourages others to do the same. Policing in the current environment is like pissing in the wind.

Well..it is just stupid. That's all. Of course detectives should be plain. Does he expect undercovers to go in full uniform too?
What about events security? How you guys are gonna "blend in"?
Every idea coming from the TH (because Brownie is just a puppet, we all are aware of this) is just stupid.
Wait until somebody comes with an app "copper presence " based on detecting uniforms.
I suspect this is in favor of criminals. After all they vote too.
Chicago is sinking. It is only a matter of time.

You forget how in love Mister Xbox is with his "much heralded" self and just how much pandering is in this SJW.

In reality he hasn't an original thought in his head. But talk and say nothing like a politician because everyone wants to read about him or see him talking silly rubbish. And fakebook is the perfect place to talk rubbish. Moondoggie offers no plan but claims a moon shot sized home run with his under 300 homicides statement. He's simply full of crap from head to toe.

And wasn't he quiet when Larry went down to the wrong side of town to teach them folks a lesson about obeying the Grand Pooba. What no teaching moment stories?

Take ALL of the districts community policing officers and put them in one special unit . Four days each week responding to hot spots around the city and one day each week doing community projects. They can " walk and talk", play X Box, basketball on their one day of community work. Let these desk jockeys with all of their clout and influence finally get out there and do some real work. 2nd and 3rd watch in day off groups.

No more tact teams in districts 01Oct20 once the summer ends and shootings slow down. All tact offices will be repurposed for classrooms equipped with computers. Education and training will send 1 officer per watch each district. Expect 1 8 hour class per month in lieu of your tour of duty. with all the area teams and tact teams back on the watch, manpower won’t be an issue/less need for OT. Only “unit” that won’t be touched in house will be CAPS.

I found this little ditty interesting. https://chicago.suntimes.com/education/2020/5/20/21264993/chicago-teachers-union-sues-betsy-devos-cps-coronavirus-special-education-iep-trump

So we are being asked to continue to work and earn our paychecks and do “community service” while having no contract in 3 years.
Meanwhile, Chicago teachers who just received an 18% raise and have barely worked a lick this year don’t even want to do the job they’d have to do, if they were actually in the school. God, I really hate the CTU.

... oh and I’ll add this quote:

“The union argues its members’ time would be better served during the pandemic adjusting to teaching students based on their existing plans rather than taking hours to hold meetings with every parent to come up with thousands of new documents.”

So, teachers have time to do “car parades,” but not actually enough time to do a remote learning plan which would seem especially necessary for Special Education students.

Over his head? Now, how would you know this in such a short time? There is no trust between the rank and file and any of the current brass, most of whom are patronage and cronyism. So, you wanted the triple merit Cato? And, if you really think that the mayor and city council is going to let any superintendent, an insider or outsider to grow a set and give you a " green light" whatever that means, to do your job, brother, you have not been paying attention.

Way out here in the western suburbs (talking Fox Valley), most of the cop cars are black or dark grey and are striped (yeah, I'm that old) with dark grey stripes and lettering, reflective but unless you shine a light at it you would have to be looking to see it. I realize the tradition in the City is white marked cars, but maybe this could be a thing.
