Weed Murder?

Remember when they told us weed would make everyone less violent?
  • A 60-year-old man allegedly shot and killed a man because the victim didn’t pay for the marijuana he gave him outside a Back of the Yards gas station.

Terry Johnson offered to sell marijuana to Nathaniel Walker when he noticed Walker walking out of the Citgo station with blunts around 9 p.m. Friday, Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney James Murphy said.

Walker took the marijuana but did not pay Johnson and started driving away with a friend, Murphy said Monday at Johnson’s bond hearing at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse.

Johnson, who was on foot, grabbed 31-year-old Walker’s car and shot Walker through an open window, striking him behind the ear, in the 5100 block of South Halsted Street, Murphy said.
Technically, it's a theft we suppose, but you'd think weed people would be calmer, mellower and more willing to write if off as bad karma.

Ah yes the illegal business transaction that had led to an increase in all sorts of crime stats. The same business transaction that has been made to be legal (although regulated poorly). This case is an argument to further de regulate legal weed.

In LA the "Bong Row" weed seller are being blown up.

https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-05-18/fire-and-police-investigators-work-to-determine-cause-of-downtown-explosion-that-injured-12

Some drug users shooting each other one on one looks tame by contrast. How is all that tax revenue from sticky weed working out for ya Illinois?

The bigger crime was the lack of a license to sell the weed. Could mean hefty fines.

Assuming the guy is telling the truth (and if it's a lie it won't help him) I guess maybe you should pay for your shit or expect consequences...

Weed makes you forgetful. Poor guy just forgot to pay and now he is dead. Whoever said weed is not harmful forgot to use their brain just like both of the assholes involved in this.

If he is 60 years old, you better release him from jail so he doesn't get the 'rona and die!

You realize about 1-5% of people 60 years old die from the Chinese Coronavirus. He shouldn't have to risk that unlikely death, you better release him in instead.

"Disorderly Conduct" and give him an i bond. He had a better excuse then most and hows a brother going to make a living with dishonorable customers like that? I have to back the shooter on this one.

What percentage of Chicago homicide offenders regularly smoke weed? If I had to guess I’d say over 90 percent.

All those hash smokers in the Sandbox never struck me as non violent. Loud music, strong coffee, stronger hashish and a primitive desire for murder and mayhem. Welcome to the New World

Makes the case for Govmint Weed Subsidies so folks won’t have to steal, rob and kill for $5 blunt, unless there was some crovid related gouging going on.

CookCo Affordable Bond and Covid’s Plague makes this community misunderstanding eligible for release regardless.
Though the StayAtHome violating nonessential traveling weed and gun totin’ old man herb diller armed assailant murderer will see an appropriate $1000 ANOV imposed, right?

As predicted, legalization will cause the black market to expand. Tax revenues will be ridiculously tiny.

Media refuses to cover this:
Where recreational marijuana is legal, crime has gone up.
Ever notice how those people who just couldn't ditch
the habit after the 70s were over just didn't turn out all
that well? We just do it on the weekends and we can
quit anytime. Was legalization some type of vindication
for them?

Smoking weed is cool and normal now. Even before the legalisation it has been. A ton of CPS students are already smoking it in grade school before they even smoke cigarettes.

Is it safer than alcohol? Yeah to some extent. Would I want my kids smoking it? No. All the stereotypes are true potheads are dumb. At least it keeps them docile and voting democratic.

One thing is for sure weed ain't the only thing the weed man is selling. Follow the $$$$.
