Groot is determined to ban churches from holding services, by hook or by crook. We're going to use most of the article seeing as how the statement by Rev. Cimpean is instructive to say the least:
- CHICAGO (CBS) — People heading to Philadelphia Romanian Church in Ravenswood on Sunday might have a hard time finding a parking spot.
Ald. Matt Martin (47th) said no-parking signs have been put up for several surrounding blocks near the church at 1713 W. Sunnyside Ave. The signs have been mounted on Sunnyside Avenue between Greenview and Ravenswood avenues, and Paulina Street between Lawrence and Berteau avenues, Martin’s office said.
The parking ban is in effect from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, according to Martin’s office.
Martin said the signs were put up at the direction of the Mayor’s office, in response to plans by the church to hold one or more religious services – in violation of the stay-at-home order for the coronavirus pandemic.
The church’s pastor, the Rev. Florin T. Cimpean, took aim at Mayor Lori Lightfoot in response to the parking ban.
“The police called me to inform us that they were asked by the mayor to put up the signs. It is completely ridiculous,” Cimpean said in the statement. “The mayor is inciting hate against the church which is very sad. A lot of our members risked their lives to escape Communism, only to find it germinating in 2020 under mayor Lightfoot in Chicago.”
Cimpean continued: “We prayed for the mayor and the governor almost every evening since March 19. We will continue to pray for them. Yet, we are also aware of our constitutional rights. Their effort to intimidate us will make us stronger.”
We spoke with a couple of cops working over that direction, and there isn't a single notice of any special event taking place in that neighborhood. This is purely a political move by Groot in regard to a church daring to defy the government, and these parishioners specifically fled a government that restricted how, where and when they could worship. This is the cruelest of ironies and we certainly hope that any Chicago Police Officer or supervisor called to the scene takes a stand with the citizens.

Tell them politely "the sign says you can't park here, we got a call from a concerned citizen. I'm not going to write you a ticket but the next person may. Have a good day". Yet multiple churches in Englewood still remain open. Don’t know how many church services I’ve seen since the order was given by the mayor where close to one hundred maybe more people were packed inside the church for service. I didn’t see any parking bans anywhere. I guess the rules don’t apply to everyone.

20 years ago I lived across from that Church. I couldn’t have asked for a better neighbor. There were never any issues and the one impression that was left on me was how many young people attended that Church, not something you see any longer.

I was at the church this morning, the only vehicle there was 19X, Capt Kane. There was a lone White Protester with a sign telling everyone to shelter in place, and some Black women ranting about Willie Wilson. The Church Parking lot was full, and none of the cars on the street parked in violation of the signs were ticketed. Apparently cooler heads got to Groot, and made her realize that the optics would be ugly if her Storm Troopers were videoed arresting White Churchgoers. Though I am sure hordes of building inspectors will descend on the church Monday morning. Groot also must realize that if cops are on T.V. arresting churchgoers, it will raise the issue of, why are those officers not doing something about the alarming homicide rate. I've been impressed with that church for years. They have many holy members who follow the Lord. I am now being called by the Lord to go to that church tonight. I’ve found myself growing increasingly depressed. I live alone and what little family I have all live far away. I never realized how much I depended on sitting in a coffee shop or visiting my local bookstore or second hand store for stability & structure in my life. Merely, running in someplace for take out or getting delivery is no substitute for human interaction. I’m able to cope but some days are harder.
That said, some by no choice of their own don’t have internal coping skills. I have a family member who suffers from mental illness. Church is the one thing he looks forward to every Sunday. When I speak with him, I notice a huge difference in his demeanor and worry about his mental health going forward. Popping a bunch more drugs is not the answer...his Faith & his ability to practice that faith is the only thing that makes him stable and tolerable to what little family he has. These pricks are heartless. Because these ruthless Democrats don’t believe in God nor recognize the importance of it in other’s lives, they are fine with playing Russian Roulette with people’s mental well-being.

In order to avoid further nonsense, the pastor should seek a patron who owns a parking lot and rent it. Have the members rent vans for the day and transport them from the out of area parking lot to the church.
Our way is to effect change by voting. That did nor work with Kimmy or the angry mother and this idiot. So, I would suggest beginning a strong opponent party, possibly a Republican Party, but any grass roots party to defeat the future dictators and possible re-claim the city. I solved my issues years ago by moving to Arizona full time, where my property taxes are less than 1/5 of a similar house with a swimming pool in Illinois. The modern left are more communist than fascist. Both communists and fascists use brute force and intimidation to seize and hold power. But there the similarity ends.
Fascism is militarist, nationalist, tolerates and even supports religion, preserves a country's traditions, allows for private property and corporations, does not force collectivization, does not liquidate entire social classes because of ideology. Fascism came about due to conditions in post-WW1 Italy, IN OPPOSITION to communism which was threatening to take over the country at the time. And although Fascist Italy wound up allied to Nazi Germany in WW2, fascism is only broadly similar to Nazism, by no means are they exactly the same.
The modern left is none of the above. In fact, quite the opposite. The modern left supports, upholds, praises, and apologizes for communism.
The right or conservative side in American politics is also mislabeled fascist by hysterical leftists. Also untrue on every level. American conservatism is rooted in our Constitutionally enshrined rights, the limitations imposed on government by the Constitution, the free market and capitalism.
