- ....19th Dist Tact Sgt that went off on Commanders Rubino and Nieves Saturday night downtown. He was calling 10-1 and saw their platoon a block away and didn’t help. When the smoke cleared he went off on both of them telling them how incompetent they are and time to earn their money. He was dumped to midnights the following day. He says it’s a badge of honor.
Just more piss poor planning. Where are the Response Teams for either (A) backing up the posts that got overwhelmed or (B) holding the corner while the cops a block away can go assist?

For what it’s worth, my respect goes to the unnamed SGT. This is yet another example why CPD has so many shitty, incompetent “leaders.” The good ones are destroyed when they stand for what is right, either by merit hacks, political appointees, politicians or a combination of two or all. Hold your head up high - looking back on your career, know that you were one of the few truly honorable supervisors worthy of being called a leader, not in quotations.

The rank score out of the number of eligible part 2 test takers just to show how many people were incredibly undeserving... (gulp) you will be exposed.

That same sgt. and his team,later that same night on Sat., did a great job taking control of a homicide scene at 119 W Hubbard St. Even in the midst of total chaos, they held the scene, preserved evidence and met with dets. A true boss who rose to the occasion. He deserved better-shame on the 024th and 019th dist. commanders.

I’m all for it. But I also think there should also be a 360 evaluation of every supervisor cross referenced with the promotions by rank order and merit. I think you’ll be surprised at the results. One doesn’t tell the full story without the other.

Didn't care for his delivery or him personally. He was pretty abrasive but he didn’t mince words with the bosses. Always pushed for more training and tried to get us better equipment. Definitely not a suck ass to get promoted.
