The video (or at least part of it) has been released - Groot must need the distraction:
- The city of Chicago on Monday released records and body camera footage related to an October incident in which then-police Superintendent Eddie Johnson was found asleep at the wheel, which led Mayor Lori Lightfoot to angrily fire him.
But Lightfoot’s administration is declining to release Inspector General Joe Ferguson’s report on the matter, despite having pushed the City Council to approve a law allowing certain IG reports of high public interest to be released.
The ordinance backed by the mayor last fall would have allowed the corporation counsel to decide whether to release IG investigation reports in cases that involve a death or that are “or may be” a felony, and are “of a compelling public interest.”
Kathleen Fieweger, the Law Department’s spokeswoman, defended withholding the report on Johnson, disputing that there’s any conduct that may have been a felony.
Trading knob-jobs for advancement is not a felony it seems. Just business-as-usual in Chicago.

The cover up, or poor way they handled it must have been worse then the drunk driving crime if they don't want to release the findings. They released the report on disgraced 025th district Commander Anthony Escamerit (probably because he is a dumb asshole), but they won't release the findings on this?
Probably more to do with his lady friend and the city phone. The rumor I heard was the cops, after they let him go, followed him back to his house because they were concerned about Eddie's state of health, knowing that he had a kidney transplant or thought he was diabetic. In front of his house, the superintendent stood there like a retard, unable to talk because of his drunken stupor, so they called for a Sgt, and then everyone being nosey, started showing up.
Eddie's wife was supposedly even calling and complaining on him. This could all be 100% fake news, but it would be interesting to know if anything that I wrote is true since the city is playing coy.
Oh, and least I forget, the other juicy part of the story is that Eddie was parked at a different location before he was found slumped over the wheel. A pod camera caught himself and a female passenger, but you only saw one head for most of the time he was parked....no word if the footage was good enough to see two heads, and a third little head during the sexcapade.
Sorry for the cops that got stuck with that job that night. At least they did the safe thing. Eddie could have grappled with them when he got out of the car, grabbed one of their tasers, then fired it at them while he was running away!
I seen the video of EJ, yes he was asleep, yes it took him 45 seconds to find his ID, it appears the po finally realized the driver is his boss and is close to home, EJ said he’s good so he leaves, as someone who does alot of DUI’s, I can see why people are asking why he wasn’t given any SFSTs, and there is talk about the po’s getting in trouble for what they didn’t do, if that is the only video at the scene I don’t believe there is enough for the po’s to get in any trouble, remember we have discretion, they used it 19p
Not enough there to show EJ was impaired, possibly was but if a po locked him up for DUI and did a subpar job on the paperwork, the dept and media would be all over him, worse call u could get involving ur boss but the po did a good job.
So why was Eddie not arrested for DUI plus you let him drive home unreal????

Is it normal that they let him drive himself home? I’m not criticizing just asking I realize there’s an Officer’s discretion involved but it seems like a really dumb and careless move not to call a Sgt to the scene. Mainly because he was the boss and if they let him go and something happened. It doesn’t seem like them following him would have been good enough if there had been an accident.
He turned his office into a dating game, threw egg on the face of the mayor and walked away with a great pension. Now who is the dummy? Don't hate the player hate the game.

My ass, you’d take the Superintendent out of his car and waive a pen in front of his face. The PO’S knew he was the Superintendent. A job that requires long hours and a ton of stress. The Superintendent doesn’t have a DOG or Watch Has to respond at any given time. Not to mention, everyone knew he had a serious medical condition. How unreasonable is it that he just needed to rest his eyes, knowing all of that. Well, of course we know different now. But at the time? What was the 911 call. Did it state a man was sleeping? Did it state an erratic, drunk driver? I’m not defending Eddie, but to say these coppers did something wrong is laughable.

From the video all it shows is a guy having problems getting his drivers license out and maybe sleeping prior. Po then asked if he was alright and needed help. He replied no and officer said have a nice day. Don’t see how you can show a DUI. No breathalyzer, no tests very little speaking and it appears officer didn’t feel he was intoxicated
