Justice should be blind but it never truly was when it favored whites & it’s not now when it’s punishing officers based on skin color of officer & subject instead of viewing the facts & the law. Yep. When they got rid of Deputy Superintendents and had all Chiefs, they moved the rank insignias up a notch. District Commanders got silver oak leafs, Deputy Chiefs got one star, Chiefs got two stars and the 1st Deputy kept his 3 stars. Then, Beck made West a Deputy Superintendent, the only D/S right now. Forgot about the insignia. Maybe break one of those stars in half and let her wear two and a half stars?? Or better yet, give the 1st Deputy four stars and the Supt. FIVE stars! General Omar Bradley was the last five star general in the military. Hasn't our new Supt. earned that 5th star??? The only star I'll ever have is pinned on my blue shirt, but thankfully, only about 7 months longer.
OT but saw D/S Barbara West being interviewed on WGN News this morning. She was wearing three stars on her collar. Now I have been retired for about nine years but I thought the three stars were reserved for the First Deputy Supt.
Was there an announcement I/we missed since retirement plans were recently announced?

The Groot made another first deputy with specific duties. Pillows has constitutional policing and the consent decree. Scummcio still has Operations.

Her job comes with three stars, just like Aunt Bea ten years ago. The Klingon Riccio also wears three stars but he is more equal than the 12th District’s most famous 1st Watch sleepyhead.
