Judge Misses His Mark

We've heard of "hanging judges" before, but not judges throwing haymakers:
  • A retired Cook County judge took a swing at a protester Saturday during a confrontation steps from a statue of Christopher Columbus in Little Italy that hours earlier had been defaced with paint.

Robert Bertucci, who oversaw both criminal and civil cases during his career, is seen in a video talking with a young male protester at Arrigo Park, 801 S. Loomis, when the encounter became heated. Bertucci, identified by multiple sources who viewed the video, then took a swing, but didn’t land a punch.

Chicago police officers witnessed the entire encounter and immediately restrained Bertucci, but ultimately let him go, the video shows.
No victim, no complaints, no crime. Plus, most of these "protestors" are just antagonistic little pussies who never benefited from a good spanking.

That is the kind of calm, even keeled, judicial temperament I expect from a Chicago Judge. /sarc

Remember Vote NO on retention of all the judges.

Judge Bertucci, thank you for what you did. You need to come over to the Republican side now. The radical left has taken over your party.

Bob is a stand up son of gun who grew up in Little Italy. One of the best judges that sat in criminal court. He and retired Judge Bastone were always police supporters but always ruled with the evidence they heard. These fine unbiased men are gone and were replaced by chief judge Evans who was a former alderman. He alone threw the hard hitting bond judges out of bond court that set bonds to fit the crime and the defendants criminal background.
Now an I Bond is set for armed robbery offenders. These judges appointed by Evans are his yes sir judge's and follow Evans whims to free career felon's who many commit class X felonies out on bail, murder being one of them.
Evans, a legend in his own mind, has his bond judges set bonds lower than whale shit. All for freeing black offenders cause they were housed for serious felonies against persons because black criminals were housed till trial mush too long. Most never show up for court and get another crap bond and freed to rob, murder, and rape again and again.
Legit black folks wonder why they are victim of so many crimes against person !!! y'all remember to vote for who your Store front reverend TELLS you to vote for. Everyday is a dice roll for people of hood to survive these snakes that will kill and rob you for a dollar.
Legit people from the hood have a better chance of hitting the Powerball two drawings in a row then not being a victim and over and over again.
Peace be with y'all.

Civilian here.

Bob Bertucci IS a stand-up guy. The protestor escalated the "discussion" to a rant in the blink of an eye and took steps towards Bob, spitting at him in the process.

Sorry 12:17 AM, your sarcasm is misplaced: you don't spit at or on a person at any time, but especially during these times, and not expect a reaction.

I sure hope Bob is nominated and receives the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans' Award of Merit for 2020.

Always liked him. When he was signing a search warrant for me at Harrison and Kedzie, I offered to go get the prisoner and bring him up. Judge Bertucci came down with me to 011's lockup to talk to John Doe.

Remember when a few nuts were out there like that guy just egging certain people on until they got what they deserved and there was nobody to run and cry to? Everyone moved on.

Today you have all kinds of liberal nuts doing the same thing but now they have the liberal nut case media and politicians to cry to and it becomes a big story!

God I long for the old days!

Stand your ground judge...
you’re probably one of the three dozen people left in all of Little Italy left that still have pride for their neighborhood and heritage.
The late Oscar D’Angelo would be 88 yrs old and would have been there all night standing guard after sweeping the streets all day.
You don’t have that neighborhood pride much if at all anymore.

So much for original immigrants rights, preservation of culture, tolerance, welcoming, diversity.

and FU Larri and yo’ballhead.

Judge Bastone experienced a very traumatic event when he was a boy. As a kid who grew up in Niles, he overcame his trauma and went on to become a well respected judge.
He was raised by a dad who was a State Trooper.

No word on “Black Crime” who is doing the shootings in Chicago? Who is doing the robberies in Chicago? CTA crime? Who are the offenders? That’s OK you can say it don’t be afraid of being called a racist. You are not making out the reports the victims are. What do they say. Check the 001 & 018 review office for the robbery and theft from person reports. They are probably locked up so no one can see who are the offenders.
Why don’t the news media state the race of the wanted offenders? They say stating the race has no purpose. HA,HA,HA. Who is going to identify the offenders or warn against not being the next victim?
Once the media has an agenda they are no longer the free news media jus another one sided political evil cabal.

Controlling the news media (Done)
Controlling the education system (done)
Controlling the transportation system (done)
Controlling vital city services (done)
Right out of the Communist Manifesto the only thing left is
Controlling the police.
Just like Rahm the closet Communist said “once we control the police everything else will fall into place.

Judge Evans is staying put to provide jobs for his progeny. Within a week of his retirement, they'd be out of work at the Daley Center where he found them jobs.

Obviously he misjudged the distance of his opponent, would recommend binging the Rocky Balboa movie series...

I too was born and raised in the same hood as the judge. I'm a few years younger, and followed a different work path. I put in 30+ years on CPD. I know Bob, and he's a fine man. I salute his efforts in protecting himself, and our neighborhood. His reaction to this assault is what a normal rational man would do. There are other ways to handle these matters. Our particular neighborhood has a long and storied history as one of the birth cradles for a number of prominent OC members. Most, but not all, of OC's influence and presence is long gone. The very few remaining OC types are salivating at the opportunity to make examples of the shit-birds that showed up at Arrigo Park that day. When I say 'make examples', this what I mean. Back in the early-mid 70's, several little old Italian-American ladies were being robbed as they walked down Taylor St., between Racine Av and Loomis St.. Once it came to the attention of the 'concerned neighbors', the robberies suddenly stopped. Immediately, after the robberies stopped cold, a new phenomenon occurred throughout the entire neighborhood. Body parts began to be found in the alley garbage cans. A hand here, a leg there, etc., you get the picture. The stopping of the robberies and the discovery of dismembered body parts is purely coincidental. In the future, please wear your black tee shirts with identifying labels, eg. antifa/blm/etc., when coming down to my hood for a slice, or lemonade.
