Old Tactic is New Again

  • The chief of the Tampa Police Department says his officers were "ambushed" early Saturday morning.

TPD Chief Brian Dugan says officers were called to the intersection of 15th Street N and 26th Avenue E for a report of shots fired with a possible victim.

He says when officers arrived, hundreds of people had all four intersections completely blocked, and as they attempted to locate a victim, the crowd became aggressive.

As officers took one person into custody, the crowd surrounded officers and threw glass bottles, while several subjects jumped on one of the officer’s cars.

“There were hundreds of them. Hundreds. We ended up having to call every single police officer that was available that night to respond there, from New Tampa to South Tampa,” Dugan said.
No one turned up shot, so the working theory is that the call was made to draw the cops into the neighborhood with the sole purpose of ambushing them.

Some of our retired readers might remember this from the turbulent sixties.

Police Commissioner Dermot Shea: Our Criminal Justice System Is ‘Imploding’

“You have to step back and look at this. You have a criminal-justice system that is imploding,” Police Commissioner Dermot Shea bemoaned during a small meeting with reporters on Wednesday at One Police Plaza in Manhattan. “Imploding. That’s the kindest way to put it.”

Shea went on to point out that many criminal cases that were “ongoing,” “stagnant” or “deferred.”

“Each one of those represents somebody not being held accountable and no consequences,” Shea said.

Phony calls to PO-5-1313 by the Black Panthers were a favorite tactic used to ambush coppers. It really was a war between BPP and CPD in the 60's/70's. This was the reason for State's Attorney Hanrahan to authorize the raid that killed Fred Hampton and Mark Clark. It may have gone out of control, but it WAS necessary. Let's hope those times don't return. BTW there's an interesting documentary about the BPP and how it imploded under the weight of it's own dude'ology. It's leadership devoured each other and abused the women members; decidedly non-struggle behavior. I'm hoping that leaders emerge for BLM and ANTIFA so they can factionalize and melt down. Hey, Bill Ayers, am I not correct?

It was also prevalent in the 70's. Someone would call in a 10-1 so the cars would come pouring in and before they made the call they removed all the sewer covers.

I also remember from the turbulent 60s that the Active Army and Marines were called in. And plenty of commies were sent to meet Lenin. Served with an officer on the Intel staff at the active duty post that was in charge during the Watts riots. They had dossiers on trained cadres that were directing the foolishness. If anyone remembers Patrice Lumumba University, their graduates went to such democratic areas as the Congo, Tanzania and what used to be Rhodesia. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

OT: Majority of Americans Want to Keep Police

Rasmussen said in a published report on Tuesday that “Sixty-four percent (64%) are concerned that the growing criticism of America’s police will lead to a shortage of police officers and reduce public safety in the community where they live.”

The Rasmussen poll also indicated that African Americans are “the most concerned about public safety where they live, compared to 63% of whites and 65% of other minority Americans.”

Not law but remember my cpd father saying black Panthers would ambush police officers all the time. Or barricade alleys and firebomb squads. Back then at least they could enforce laws and get convictions. Please stay safe and keep in mind citizens love and respect all that you do especially in 16th district.

Even the common burglar alarm where the copper will say squat I got it is there a working 99, the routine alarm in today’s day and age could be a total set up even a burglar alarm no more squad I got a wait at least a block away just like for any other calls or better yet wait a mile away until back up arrives at least you have somebody there to help you. No reason to try to be a hero and anything, the way the Democrats have turned the attitude away from law and order, and stirred it into anarchy and bastardizing hard-working police officers everywhere especially to Chicago Police Department protect yourself protect the color blue protect blue families! Everyone else your alderman carry badges they are enforcement officers or so they say you could call them or maybe go over to the mayors home where she has a platoon of police protecting her knock on her door maybe she could come out with her elite team of security specialist who are paid way above their skill levels with the pension to match in order to carry her pants to the cleaners and get coffee and drive her and her family around everywhere.

Turbulent 60's? We had a 10-1 at 4444 S. State all those years ago in around 1997. I never saw so many police cars in one place so fast, and as was the rule of the day, when it was over, the cars disappeared instantly. Leaving the hundreds of angry fools sputtering and being proud of how they drove the police off. Fact is and was, once the arrest is made, in the projects, you left with the offender as did all the assist units. Just that fast.

Chicago Police Gang Investigator James Alfano was in fact killed behind the Southmore (sp?) hotel when gangs blocked an area of egress and murdered Alfano, ambush style, when stopped his vehicle as a result of the planted obstruction.
1969-1970 saw at least fifteen (15) Chicago police Officers killed in the line of duty by violence.

I also remember the 60s. Certain L.E. agencies infiltrated those groups and turned them against each other- resulting in shootouts between them. Military was also used, MI and CID. I worked with a Vietnam vet who had been California National Guard during Watts riots- he killed a rioter who tried to run him down. LBJ and Nixon were not afraid to arm the guard- my brother was issued ammo and told he could shoot to defend himself. Nixon had troops inside federal buildings in D.C. The nation had guts back then.

Bobby Rush was privy to those details, sir.
He still has them inside his fragile, eggshell geriatric mind.
That's why he betrayed Fred and the boys.
His "community" seems to have forgotten these details.

Memo to 12:34 AM post: incident at the SouthMoor Hotel in 1970 took the life of Gang Intelligence Officer Jimmy Alfano. Jeff Fort and the Blackstone Rangers orchestrated the ambush. You know who else was closely affiliated with Jeff Fort back then? None other than our own mumblemouthed asshole Bobby Rush. There has been a war by the black community on the police since I was sworn in in 1965. Be safe and don’t believe a word that comes out of a black politician or black “community” leader. Kinda remember seeing a picture of him seated at Forts feet once??
Though I know for sure the Rev Jesse said this:
“There is nothing more painful to me, at this stage of my life, than to walk
down the street and hear footsteps.....then turn around and see somebody white and
feel relieved”.......
Makes ya wonder, don’t it?
