Federal Charges
- Three men charged with illegally possessing guns and ammunition are the first in Chicago prosecuted under Operation Legend, officials announced Friday.
Darryl Collins, 30, of Dolton, is charged with one count of illegal possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. Romeo Holloway, 21, is charged with illegal possession of a firearm by felon. And Darryl Phillips 22, is charged with illegal possession of a machine gun, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois.
Operation Legend is intended to help state and local officials fight violent crime, but the program also prompted backlash in Portland; activists there said agents in unmarked vehicles were abducting protesters off the street without cause.
President Donald Trump said Wednesday more federal agents would be sent to Chicago as the program expanded. Mayor Lori Lightfoot insisted those agents would not operate “Portland-style.”
We imagine Groot doesn't have any say in how a Republican administration decides to operate concerning Federal charges.

- Let me look into my crystal ball here as I’m already hearing the strategy from a friend in news affairs. The feds are here and they are already advertising they are prosecuting the first gun cases of the weekend. The neighborhoods so far are quieter already because they know the feds are here. The weekend numbers are going to be low. Groot and the supt will be having a very early morning presser Monday morning taking the credit and crediting the low shootings and murders to the newly formed citywide units that went into effect on Thursday. This is not a guess, this is from news affairs people. They are trying to get ahead of any feds or politicians trying to take credit for a downturn so they also want the gun numbers and how many arrests, guns, contacts and also any guns the new unit recovered that was referred to the feds for federal prosecution.
Seems like the beginnings of an Exile Project right here in Chicago. The word on the street is exactly this - the feds are here and they're handing out years like Halloween candy.

Ultimately that bitch is no more than a small fish in a big pond. She's not the ultimate decision-maker in this city. Last week violent mobs attacked the police with heavily restricted explosives. These devices are capable of causing death or great bodily harm. Where any of the ones shooting these devices at the police arrested? Where any of them shot? Several charges apply here. I know the charges would not have been approved but the assholes would got a CB#. The action of intentionally shooting these devices at the police was to kill or injure them per state law deadly force could and should of been used.
Say the word lets picket city hall and shut down the streets around city hall during rush hour.
Detroit, Atlanta and a few other cities were going FED of gun cases 25-30 years ago. There were billboards up that said "Get caught with an illegal gun, do 10 years." But, as usual, Chicago wouldn't get on board. ALL gun cases should go FED. If you get told NOT to go to federal court to testify on it, advise the AUSA and Judge that your employer (City of Chicago) told you to ignore their subpoena and not attend. Make sure to have the name of whatever supervisor that told you not to. Let the AUSA go for witness tampering of that individual. If it's in a directive to not attend these trials, bring that directive to court or give a copy to the AUSA.

The Cook County Public Defender and a few criminal defense attorneys were already interviewed on WGN-AM 720 saying charging citizens of Chicago in federal court, rather than state(Cook Country) court is unjust, and racist, that if there is a state charge for the same crime they should be charge by Foxx rather than the feds, that the federal system is racist and could possibly take them away from their families for longer periods of time and to far away prisons.
They are going to file a brief to have any federal charges that are also state charges dismissed and moved to Cook County.

The Fed prosecutors are not set up to deal with mass prosecutions like 26 and cal. The fed prosecutors have a 96% conviction rate so that means they will not take a case that they know they cannot win. The only way things are going to change is to change the culture in Cook County. People need to get out and vote. The community also needs to step up and cooperate with the police so that the homicide conviction rate is drastically improved. The community needs to get fed up with the violence, especially for the loss of children and the elderly. Chicago has so much potential to be a great city but it has been mismanaged for decades. Pensions not being funded properly, unqualified people being promoted into important positions making uninformed decisions, and political favors skewing justice. The city has been through ugly periods in the past and there will be more in the future but Chicago can prevail like Chicago did in 1968, 1980s, post 9/11, and other challenges.
I love when BLM puts out their "list of demands " like every week Hahahahahaha! Always entertaining to read! I do however, stop laughing when these stupid corporations and sports leagues start sending them millions in "I'm sorry you're butt hurt money". If/when the feds hold a press conference to announce however many people they’ve charged with federal crimes in Chicago related to Operation Legend, the first question from the Chicago liberal main stream media will be how many of those arrested were minorities?
That will set off the dog whistle to start demanding they be released, charges dismissed, charged locally(released before their prints clear), rallies/protests and demonstrations will start, probably led by Foxx and Lightfoot, calling Trump and the federal system racist, demands for him to resign.
They want to create a culture where only police are held accountable, not anyone else. If a young black man shoots and kills someone, it’s everyone else’s fault, he shooter is the victim of his circumstances and needs a hug, not handcuffs, they believe.
At the end of the day they would love to abolish us, jails, prisons, the legal system, and redistribute all that money to their neighborhoods. These protests are just the starting point, and they are working, now it’s just statues removed and streets renamed, next they will be at the state capitol, demanding the state constitution be changed, laws removed and created that they want.
