Here's Another Dumb Idea
You want Chicago to break 800 homicides this year? Here's how you do it:
- Chicago’s top federal prosecutor made a rare plea to a judge Thursday, hoping to persuade him against a new sentence for Gangster Disciples co-founder Larry Hoover — a move most believe could return Hoover to the state prison system where he once led his gang.
U.S. Attorney John Lausch spoke at the end of a 40-minute telephonic hearing marred with technical difficulties. Though it was sometimes hard for U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber and the attorneys to hear each other, Lausch was clear: It would be a “miscarriage of justice to reduce (Hoover’s) sentence in any way, shape or form.”
“It simply makes no sense now to give him a chance to run the Gangster Disciples,” Lausch told Leinenweber.
Leinenweber ended Thursday’s hearing without making a decision, but at no point did he reject the idea of a ruling in Hoover’s favor.
Instead, the judge repeatedly asked a prosecutor and Hoover’s defense attorney to help him understand whether the Illinois Department of Corrections had improved since the days of Hoover. In short, the judge asked, “can the state handle Hoover?”
Short answer - "No." Longer answer - "Hell no."
It seems IDOC is taking the smart route and has recommended not returning Hoover to the Illinois system. But with this political structure in place? He'll be running the gang in one form or another via intermediaries just like he did years ago.
Hoover should die in Federal SuperMax. Twice if possible.

The same thing that happened to Willie Lloyd will happen to Larry Hoover if released. Although Willie Lloyd managed to take 1 million from Ceasefire and buy wholesale heroin with it, he was gunned down and paralyzed before he could flip it.
Release Hoover from custody to join the rest of the assholes in the shithole, hopefully he can meet the same fate as good ole Willie Lloyd. Westside Lead poisoning courtesy of the streets
Hoover got no control no more the shorties don't take orders, he wouldn't last 6 months
Let him out of prison and I guarantee u my front teef that Groot will give him a parade downtown and name a street after him
Illinois citizens will be safer with Hoover and other criminals returned to the streets in an effort to empty the cells. Just ask any SJW pol, they’ll tell ya.
Chicago will break 800 homicides this year.
The sheer incompetence of the CPD Command Staff guarantees it.
They're return him to Hellinois Correctional, then he'll claim he's afraid of da COVID, and he'll get a furlough with a strong wagging finger admonition to "behave this time!"
And 15 minutes after he's out, the current kind of the communertie will kill him...
King Larry should continue to serve out his 6 life sentences.
@DaFeds
(No State Bullshit)
Dart would release Hoover on EM
If he’s in Illinois, it will be easier for him to direct money to favored politicians.
He is soooo sixties and seventies. No one will listen to him.
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
I thought that Trump was asked to commute his sentence? Fat boy probably would, just for medicinal reasons....
If the Federal judge commutes his Federal sentence and returns him to Illinois what is stopping Illinois from requesting that he be returned to Federal prison for the safety of the citizens of Illinois. Federal and states take in each others prisoners frequently for a variety of reasons.
In the name of restorative justice, no doubt.
Bring back jailhouse cellphone “roaming” and watch even more crime drop, he’s may not be as significant in the hood as his contemporaries but just letting him go altogether to reestablish his operations could be the penalty and sentence he has coming.
Some people like to bring up Hoover’s communitay charity efforts, something akin to Al Capone.
STD’s should be allowed to be a restorative justice condition.
In this day and age of high fidelity global technology -
“...40-minute telephonic hearing marred with technical difficulties. Though it was sometimes hard for U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber and the attorneys to hear each other...”
Maybe the prosecutor and judge should have used Hoover’s FaceChatTime free cellphone.
Ok, the judge is 83 yrs old and high risk Covid candidate. But keeping courts closed and relying on purposely altered, sabotaged or antiquated equipment? That’s only supposed to happen during a presidential debates. I can hear the back and forth “WHAT! SPEAK UP SONNY!” as he raises his ear horn banging his at-home basement office desk. Disaster coming because of misunderstanding due to closing the city and state for the flu.
It’s like an old Abe Lincoln joke...
It's simple, really. Just get out the word that Hoover has something really scandalous about Hillary Clinton and he's willing to plea bargain for a reduced sentence.
Happy to help.
Prison is useless for organized crime of whatever ethnicity. The original Pilgrims had a remedy for such people: A large tree on Boston Common from which the soon to be dead persons of criminal ways were suspended. Hanging were done during the day, with the public invited. Food was sometimes brought by the observers but not (alas) alcohol. At least not officially.
They were not violent people, they were just wise to some parts of human nature. Doing all of that proudly and in the light of day meant it was done rarely, mostly the tree just stood by its lonesome, branches unweighted.
I’m going out on a limb here and predict 900 homicides. The 1990s called and they want their murder numbers back.
Larry Hoover? Dart: How bout a pizza party?
Foxx: no body cam video of any of the murders he is responsible for? I bond and a public apology from the white privileged prosecutors who caused all the harm.
I want to fucking puke!!
