FOP Appeals to President
With rumors of an impending onslaught of Federal authorities headed to Chicago, the media is actually covering this story - probably so they can blame the FOP:
- The president of Chicago's Fraternal Order of Police has drafted a letter to President Trump requesting federal help in combating the city's gun violence problem.
In the letter posted to Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 7's Facebook page Saturday evening, FOP President John Catanzara said "Mayor Lightfoot has proved to be a complete failure who is either unwilling or unable to maintain law and order here."
"I would be willing to sit down anytime and discuss ideas about how we can bring civility back to the streets of Chicago," Catanzara went on to say. "These politicians are failing the good men and women of this city and the police department."

Aside from protecting Federal facilities in Chicago Federal resources should not be used elsewhere. There are at least 4 Federal resources rotating through Portland and they are getting the same treatment Chicago cops got trying to protect the Columbus statue.

Take all the video available from the riots, and use it against the rioters. Make it hard for them to live that way here. Homeland Security has the muscle and toys to do this. Run the video through facial recognition algorithms to identify everyone that was there, then put all their information on line. Where they work and live, cars they drive, known associates. Make it hard for companies that keep them on payroll from operating. Pressure them to fire people that break the law. Threaten their support system. If "Vanecko Flower shop" had a bunch of these idiots working for them, I wouldn't want to patronize that flower shop. Post all their personal information in the form of wanted posters. Offer bounties for them in the form of tax credits. Let gun owners be able to hunt them down. Open a 120 day season on these domestic terrorists and traitors, no bag limits. Let us all help take back our city. Let real federal prosecutors show the Massilon Midget how she should have done her former job. Shine a light into their underworld, and disinfect it.

We are coming. There is an internal plan in place. Whether it actually gets implemented, may be another story depending on your Mayor’s reaction. I suspect she will double down and say we don’t want or need help. The only thing we can do is offer support for our brothers and sisters in blue and try to charge people with federal crimes. The USAO is starting to step up finally since they are receiving a lot of pressure from DC to do something. When you catch a fed case, it doesn’t get plead down, more likely to get held with no bond (especially for gun crime), and you do actual jail time, no 50% nonsense. The MCC is less of a revolving door than County. However, without prosecutors willing to charge crimes and judges unwilling to impose harsh sentences, nothing will actually change long term. This is especially true of Cook County. Sure, feds can come in and maybe make a tiny dent, but come Fall it’s back to business as usual. The biggest problem we have in Chicago is a lack of leadership from the Governor to the Mayor to the State’s Attorney. It’s the trifecta of incompetence, and you see the fruits of their policies/political ideology playing in real time on the streets.
The first step we need to take is Atty Gen Barr to declare our Consent Decree no longer valid. This would loosen our restrictive set of nonsense procedures we are forced to abide by. It would free us up to partner with a flood of Federal Agencies to take back the streets.

Portland and Seattle are daily riot festivals. Ours are on a weekend basis. He upper west coast yet to see armed violence they way Chicago sees it, but since we have both maybe out situation weighs in more to federal crackdown on local elected officials. So aside from riot violence, community shootings and killing have really taken a backseat, almost by design.

If the County won’t strictly adhere to the State Law then the City will never be safe. A silent and complicit Mayor, Governor and IL State Atty General are not interested in peace and quiet, have tough words for Covid lockdowns and following science data metrics. And any diversions and deflecting are talking points Democrats need to stay relevant.

I was a long time military guy then spent several years contracting in DC. We worked with everyone and I was able to attend very interesting schools. It opened my eyes to how many different organizations are out there.
I hope you guys get some help soon. I can tell you one thing, the people in those organizations would always be in favor of providing assistance to you. Most are veterans and are horrified at watching a counter-insurgency develop in front of our eyes.

The electronic surveillance capabilities of the gov are unreal. Wars do that. We have spent billions on surveillance equipment and they have training teams ready to go. I am absolutely certain there are dozens of entire conexs with equipment that is not used ever during peacetime. This could be a long game. Get their pictures, video, and statements on social media. Cell phones always help, none of them are disciplined. There are hundreds of former contractors that could come in, crunch data, jam or rip phones, and ethical hackers. We did this non-stop in the Middle East. The Terrorists were much more careful than these entitled little clowns you are dealing with.

You are so special. You have been watching too many cop shows. They can come and take over the department if they want to.
The feds can send in US Marshals Fugitive Task Force TFOs and deputies to do mass warrant sweeps, however, the majority of the warrants they serve are 95% state and local warrants. So the end result would be taking the arrestees before a Cook County judge and have Foxx’s ASA’s release them. They will be back on the streets by that night.
So it wouldn’t do much good.
