Unenforceable Quarantine
- People coming to Chicago from 15 states experiencing a surge in coronavirus cases must self-quarantine for 14 days upon entering the city beginning next week, Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced late Thursday afternoon.
The city ordered the quarantine for anyone who has spent more than 24 hours in the following states before arriving in Chicago: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nevada, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Utah.
The order, which will go into effect on Monday, does not apply to people who are at the airport for a connecting flight or driving through the city on their way elsewhere, city officials said.
And this works how again?
- Is Groot setting up checkpoints?
- Is CPD expected to pull over cars with out of state plates?
- As a sanctuary state, is ICE going to allowed to stop illegal aliens?

So let me get this right. I’m going to California for the my RDOs coming up and taking one more day on the end. So when I get back to work next Thursday can i come to work or do I need to quarantine for 14 days which means hitting the medical. Why should I be treated any different than any other Chicagoan???? Maybe many officers should take a quick trip and come back. Lots of medical. Southwest has 59 dollar flights all next week to Texas, Florida and Atlanta. Who’s up for a quick hotel getaway for their RDOs next week!! I think it’s worth 14 free days off at home during the summer.

It is so cheap to fly right now Florida round trip is on $57 on United. I am going to fly to every State on her list, spend 24hrs and fly back. Quarantine for 14 days, it is not Medical time, she said I should quarantine, then other state after the 14 days. 14 states = 196 days of quarantine. Hopefully this is still in effect in mid August when I have a 6 day trip planned to one of those listed states. If it is I’ll have an extra 2 weeks on the medical when I get back home. Thanks Groot!

I think our esteemed mayor just handed us a “Top Ten” style list of states, plus bonus states, to go to for vacation - or at least a long weekend. She/it would be hard pressed to find issue with our medical usage if we were to have visited any friends or family in this list of states. After all, she/it loves compliance of her/its orders more than life itself. Happy travels everyone! Just be sure to self-report your time in the bad states to get some city hall ordered time off.

The judge ruled yesterday in favor of state rep Darren Bailey and his lawsuit on behalf of the citizens of Illinois against JB Pritzker. Basically, anything JB has done after April 8th is illegal. The same would apply to Mayor Larry. She does not have the authority.

On furlo and have spent the majority of time here in Lake Geneva. One hour away and open for the most part. Everyone has to be ready to leave Chicago ASAP. Even if you have to rent to make it to retirement, be ready to do so. You must have a plan of escape, especially if you live in Chicago. I’m ready to put my home on the market within 6-9 months. I’m in Edison Park and we have a cushion albeit a small one. You must get as much equity out of your home as possible, rent if need be and then extricate yourself from Illinois. Look for a Red State, smaller city or town and buy property. The age of the City is over. There are none, not one major city in this country that is not a cesspool of crime and lawlessness. Buy acres of land, 5-10 miles from a moderate sized city (RedCity) or small town and set yourself up with a nice sized house, a pool, a Barn, etc.... what ever you like. Become a little more self sufficient and less dependent on corporations and convenience. Keep your family close and be prepared to protect yourself. Buy weapons for self Protection etc.... have an outdoor range (with property you can do this) find a solid Biblical Church and live a good quite life with the ones you love. Look at the surrounding areas of Knoxville, Chattanooga, Johnson City, Birmingham, South Carolina, Florida, etc.... let the liberals have the cities, they are lost anyways.

Here is the question to ask yourself:
Do I have any relatives in one of the listed states? Someone with a birthday, anniversary, graduation, kid's birthday, birth, etc.?
Talk to them, and arrange everything. Inform your shift about your visit to family and/or friends.
Go. Make sure you get receipts from your stay the state. Maybe email some pictures of you and a land mark back home. Write a postcard back to the district with having a wonderful time in (state).
When you return, make sure you inform your bosses about the trip, and ask them if the quarantine policy applies to you.

Regardless of who wins, COVID will be long gone by Christmas at the latest. A "cure" will be found, a miracle vaccine will appear, or "new medical findings" will show it's severity has been greatly diminished because of amazing response of our health care system.
