So days off were cancelled this weekend for the teams (Tact, what's left of Gangs, the remnants of Saturation, Summer Strike Force, whatever.) the cancellation occurred with under 24 hours, necessitating a scramble for baby sitters, restructuring family plans, all manner of disruption.
And then this came out late Saturday:
This was sent to all the exempts, who then had to get the word out to all of their supervisors and officers that the cancellation was cancelled - again, with less than 24 hours notice.
If this doesn't tell you exactly how little the exempt structure cares about you - not to mention the Groot clown - then we don't know how else to get the message across. Carter is obviously a dumbass and whomever is helping him "plan" shit is twice the moron.
The FOP and the PBPA ought to be working on getting the city to pay some sort of penalty for such shitty planning that disrupts lives like this and then attempts to un-disrupt them by ruining alternate plans.

A unit out of Homan Square is still RDO cancelled and proactively looking for heads on this Sunday morning. Early morning also, early start time after staying late Saturday.

If you’re scheduled cancellation date is rescinded, they should at least be forced to pay you straight time for the day. They need to get their act together. If riots, out of control shootings etc are the wave of our future, maybe they need to create an order that has rotating stand-by teams (in which you are paid for that stand by time, regardless of whether you step foot of your door). That stand by time should be negotiated by the FOP.

Almost feel that the department is trying to break us down. I can honestly say that one of the happiest days of my life was the day that I was hired as a Chicago police officer. We don't need sports, those cuck owners and ungrateful kneeling prima donna sports figures need fans asses in the seats to survive. You would be surprised at how much there is to do outside of being a sports fan. Paint the house, go golfing, take your significant other out on a nice weekend out of town. Or do something constructive and go to the shooting range and practice marksmanship. We all will probably be needing it in the near future.

If more people would spend time together as family or just have friends over for a nice dinner and play games together or get out and ride bikes, exercise a little with would be living better lives.
