Citing family reasons, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s security detail chief resigns
Smith’s resignation also comes weeks after Southwest Side Ald. Matt O’Shea, 19th, privately complained to Lightfoot chief of staff Maurice Classen that he believed Smith had given a heads-up to Beverly bar Cork and Kerry about a forthcoming inspection, sources told the Tribune.
City officials declined to comment on O’Shea’s complaint or the steps they took in response, and it’s unclear whether it was connected to Smith’s departure. In an interview, Smith told the Tribune he did not leak any information.
O’Shea declined to comment on the situation, which he called “gossip,” but noted Cork and Kerry’s owners “quickly worked with the Liquor Commissioner to develop and implement a plan of operation and re-opened later the same week.”

Most of us are ordered to stay working, 12 hour Days. Some want to stay working For Family Reasons. Others like Larri appear for a few 12 Minute stints for their obligatory work periods before disappearing over 3 day weekends.
It’s no doubt Larri is unpleasant on many levels and a miserable fuck to work for and along side. I give Smitty benefit of the doubt that there’s no easier and diplomatic way to get out of a hostile work environment than using the family excuse. Why burn bridges, that’s a Larri move. We already know what Larrimis about, Smitty doesn’t have to rat out her incompetence and behavioral dysfunctions.
