Yesterday we noted that the MPD has told everyone that they need to surrender their property to thieves and follow instructions from robbers. That's pretty bad, but not as bad as their attorney general (who happens to have been credibly accused of beating women):
- Keith Ellison, former Democrat National Committee vice chairman and current Minnesota attorney general, said he does not want police officers to respond to rape calls. The shocking policy suggestion occurred during a Zoom conversation featuring Ellison and Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.) to discuss racism and police reforms. The dialogue was moderated by White House correspondent for “PBS NewsHour” Yamiche Alcindor.
Ellison stated: “If you’re a woman who’s been a victim of a sexual assault, and the assailant ran away, wouldn’t you rather talk to somebody who is trained in helping you deal with what you’re dealing with, as opossed [sic] to somebody whose main training is that they know how to use a firearm? Right?”
Well actually, most departments have trained officers who can respond to and investigate these types of crimes, many times leading to arrests and successful prosecutions. Officers/Detectives also have access to a wide array of social services to help victims of sex crimes put the pieces of their lives back together. And many times, someone there, armed and trained in the Use of Force, offers a sense of comfort and safety to someone who's world has been upended.
Ellison, an alleged woman beater, democrat, adherent of a "religion" that advocates the stoning of rape victims, and all around asshole, thinks cops shouldn't pursue perpetrators of the most vile of crimes.

He is VERY impressed with himself and never fails to provide evidence of being an asshole.

The mixed rumors/news is that supposedly Officer Derek Chauvin and his attorneys were almost finished with a plea agreement with Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman before he was actually arrested, when the case was jerked out of his hands and given to MN AG Keith Ellison. I don't know if it was true, but considering the Twin Cities were burning, and thousands were rioting in the streets, a plea deal might have been good for both sides, and calmed down the riots.
It could have been smart for Chauvin, because Mike Freeman is actually the only prosecutor in Minnesota to actually get a murder conviction of a police officer. He convicted Officer Mohamed Noor for killing an unarmed pajama clad Justine Damond. The Ramsey County Attorney Choi couldn't convict the officer that shot Philandro Castile.
Now AG Ellison has the hot potato. He also charged Second Degree murder. That will be a very hard sell to a jury. There is also the fact that he used Minneapolis Police Department approved procedures. If Ellison goes for second degree murder, likely Officer Chauvin gets a hung jury, or maybe even walks on those charges. If he doesn't get a conviction, then his Democrat voting base will be enraged.
Doesn't matter for Officer Chauvin and his family though. The state and feds have the husband and wife both on tax evasion. They are screwed.
Keith Ellison sounds like a complete tool. Without question I want to talk to the police in the hope of apprehending the offending SOB. Second I'd want medical care to preserve evidence and screen for disease/pregnancy. I got sisters and cousins--don't need to talk to a clinician.

It would also radically change immigration in the US.
It’s pretty scary to think if BIDEN were to win and he picked BASS or any of the others on the short list it’s logical to think that he would not last long as President, and one of those radicals would be the President. As a woman who has been stalked and nearly assaulted (and lives in fear as a result), if I need to call 911 because of another sick perv, I want *ARMED* police officers responding to help me!!! These people have lost their minds!

I stopped watching or contributing to these organizations ( to include channel 11 in Chicago) long ago. I did not like the people on their panels or talk shows. Slanted and leftist.
It absolutely amazes me that so many people know how to do a job that they’ve never done before. They know what the correct response to every situation without ever being in that situation. I wish that these politicians could take me under their wings and show me how to get things done out here. You know like dealing with a domestic disturbance with a parolee who’s been smoking crack for three straight days and beating his baby mama and he knows it’s either fight or flee , because he’s definitely headed back to prison. How does one get someone like that into custody without fighting with him? Part of me is actually excited to see a social worker arrive on scene of one of these incidents and watch as him or her gets destroyed and ends up calling the police.
Evidently you never heard of collecting evidence like a rape kit and chain of custody. How about photographs and the collection of their clothing that may contain the offender’s DNA??? Is the social worker just going to shoot a couple of selfies with the victim and pack all her clothes in a garbage bag???

A report can be submitted On-Line (like a teacher-less public school can administer its curriculum) without the need for actual police, perhaps utilizing low wage associates or social workers.

I don't condone violence by any means but let this a**hole get bent over dry and forcefully raped in every orifice and them leave him with a counselor. SCC you got it right, every victim of a sex crime has been comforted by my uniform, physical presence, care, concern and ability to send a flash message of the criminal who did it. They feel safe when I ride with them to the hospital and stay until the Dicks come or a family/friend gets there. Those are who I swore to serve and protect, the forgotten true victim's.

On Monday of last week it was announced that 59 Seattle POs had been injured during a weekend of rioting in that city.
On Wednesday the head of the Police Union in Seattle put the number at 60 injured.
On Thursday NPR had an article stating 21 Seattle POs were injured that weekend. SMH!
I always said Why don’t these jagoffs try jacking me while I’m getting gas. Then I came to my senses and started getting gas out west. Then the animals migrated out there and went on a rampage of auto thefts from suburban dealerships, car jackings at gas stations and morons that left there keys in their Mercedes and lexuses. They don’t stone the VICTIM they stone the OFFENDER. We can’t point the finger at the media for reporting bad info if we do the same.
In my experience, assault victims prefer a straight scoop over some feel good bullshit. The ones that are into the whole victim motif tend to have other irons in the fire. And having trained personnel, with the ability to defend said victim by firearms if necessary is of more comfort than a social worker's 'ooh's and ahh's".
When I lived by Loyola university, and had a man on my back porch, peeping in my window while cat calling me, I called police. I had scared him off after slamming things around, yelling for someone to call police, and I pretended someone was there with me. He slowly walked away and had a hood up, so all I could see was his cheek. 2 months later a girl got chloroformed and raped a couple blocks away. Similar description. Did I want a social worker?! No!! That is what therapy is for. I am so over these adult sad excuse for “men” that think they know what’s best for women and often use and abuse said women. If it weren’t for police, a lot more women would be raped no doubt in my mind.
