- Armed carjackers stole an off-duty Chicago police officer’s car Friday in Bronzeville on the South Side.
The 26-year-old man was stopped at a traffic light in his gray Dodge sedan when a white SUV rear-ended the car at 10:11 p.m near 25th Street and King Drive, according to Chicago police.
A police source said the driver was an off-duty CPD officer. When the officer got out of the Dodge after the crash, several males with handguns exited the SUV and demanded the car.
The officer and his passenger started walking away while the suspects drove off in the Dodge and the SUV, officials said. The officer turned around and fired shots at the carjackers as they fled, but it was not immediately clear whether anyone was hit.
The Slum Times gives a better description of the car than of the carjackers.

What scares me most about a carjacking is how clueless these tards are with weapons. At best, you are lucky that the assholes don't AD. This is actually something I consider when buying vehicles for my wife. I look for low key and AWD. I used to just look at tons of airbags.
Start carrying you full sized weapon, with extra mags. The shitheads will only get worse. They are slaves and pawns of the democratic party. They will kill you without a thought.

This is a simple case of repatriations. Although I’m assuming the race of the criminals, but I bet I’m right. Now since the off duty cop fired at the poor individual seeking reparations, when does the looting start?
The suspects were probably black. It's.not hard to figure out I think we may be coming to a point where we need to put these savages away for a long time. Not I'm jail, but in a mental war where they can be placed on the medication, they need to act like productive, law-abiding citizens.
In NC the officer or any citizen would have protected under out Castle Doctrine, which includes your vehicle.

Now if the cop was white and shot and killed all of them then the headline would read like this: " White Chicago police officer shoots and kills BLACK teens asking for directions after a minor fender bender."

I called the Times to ask why their descriptions always omitted race. They explained that this is their policy because they are afraid that if race is included in the description, then police will arbitrarily stop all young men of color. I voiced the fact that there fear is not supported by any facts and is a disservice to the public. The Times employee then raised her voice several octaves and said “ I tol you our police. I got better things to do than talk with you” she then angrily hung up on me.

I’m glad he & companion are ok, but still scary. They did this to my 75 year old neighbor a few years ago. He was so terrified, shaking...all you need is one spooked thug and he could’ve been killed. I absolutely tell my sister, if you get into an accident & you don’t know the area or there is a question of safety- keep driving, dial 911 & ask Siri for directions to the closest police station. Don’t wait a day to make the report because then it’ll look like you’re trying to hide a DUI. You can always articulate your fear for not stopping. You make the report even if all you have is a description of the vehicle. If the driver was legit & takes the plate down, you are covered because you made that report. Make sure desk personnel articulates your reasons for not stopping in the narrative. I’m a female on this job. I’m forever driving thru this city in questionable neighborhoods at all hours just to get to work. The safe neighborhoods haven’t been safe from this type of crime for awhile. I honestly don’t assume I’m safe because I’m the police.
This isnpart of the reason I store my nice old cars outside of the city and enjoy them in the suburbs and beyond. My shitty little econocar draws no attention of the shitbirds, and thats the way I like it.

The officer fired some shots as the offenders fled in the vehicle, they were no longer a threat. Look for him to be at 311 soon. Remember, we are held to a higher standard than are citizens that are not CPD. Can't shoot at a fleeing vehicle. Class over.

Concerns over printing are outweighed by the actual risks right now. 6-7 rounds before reloading isn't enough, and you get the additional control and barrel length to boot.

Situational awareness at all times. Assume every car coming up behind you is going to hit you and attempt to carjack you. Scrutinize everyone who approaches you or your vehicle, everywhere, all the time. Consider your options BEFORE you're at the end of a barrel. It's not paranoia if they really are out to get you, and these days, they are. Please be safe.

This. A scared teen with no impulse control will blow you away maybe even without the intent to kill you. That's why it's best to comply bc resisting will likely end up with a nervous trigger being pulled. I’m just a simple guy trying to take care of my elderly mother, my vehicle is not just my property it is our lifeline I need it for doctors appointments, grocery stores etc. I swear to God I’m not looking for any trouble.....I have enough to deal with as it is! I do everything I can to keep out of the “bad neighborhoods“ I do most of my shopping in the suburbs or online, but I have to take my mother to Northwestern Memorial every three weeks for chemotherapy.....If anybody walks up to my car carrying a gun I am going to shoot them through the windows and run them over. Hopefully the coppers arriving on scene will understand.
The Victim/Officer is a Military Man. It is a shame he has to get deployed over seas to be safe and out of a war zone

That's the difference between old timers and these new cops on the block. All cops drove beaters, especially to work. First reason was because of the bad guys, second reason was because that's all we could afford, third reason was cops didn't compete with each other.

Hey douchebag not everybody can pull off an obvious weapon bulge on their persons while conducting daily business AND not everyone wants the savages to see said obviously concealed weapon. Not to mention some guns are more about personal defense, like a nice concealment of a pocket Ruger. So fuck off moron and let others decide for themselves what they are comfortable with
This ain't nothing new, they were using these tactics some years ago to steal nice cars. But in all seriousness, keep distance in front of you for escape, keep eye on drivers around and behind you. Making that eye contact as they profiling you to determine your victim probability rate sometimes helps. I considered the carjacking rate before getting my current car. Not the hottest but I keep it clean and would do if savages need a decent ride and I follow the above advice while driving. I also know if I gotta hit a mo fo or leave the scene I will be dialing 911 and be in route to a police station in a safer area
