Rumor mill at 35th Street has kicked into high gear.
Someone mentioned a promotional class also - lieutenants or sergeants. We haven't seen a request for "merit" picks recently, so maybe that political idea hasn't been resurrected yet.
Or maybe Groot is seeing how the process has been so corrupted as to leave unqualified morons at the top who are unable to perform basic event planning and crowd control....but we doubt it seeing as how Groot was the beneficiary of a number of undeserved "merit" spots throughout her life.

With so many Lts and sgts retiring they have to make more, or start letting sgts run the ship again as acting Lt when no Lt there. Designate a desk person as acting desk sgt. There’s no other way around it.

The department is short at least 400 sergeant’s and by December they’ll be short 500 or more. Get rid of merit so that these floozies can relax. No more merit interviews in the back seat of the exempts department vehicles. Newly promoted exempts are already promising officers a bite of merit apple.

In order to cover the 24 on 48 off schedule we will be working soon expect a class of around 750 sgts and at least 100 lts. These numbers are what Georgas came up with when he was brought back recently and he is working out all the logistics of the new schedule. Expect it to go into affect the week of Halloween.

How many Sgt's are they going to make off of this list?????????? If they make a big class and you include merit you will have over a 1,000 Sgt's from 1 test. That is way too many. The test I made Sgt off of they didn't even get to 400 off the list. I still think of the good officers who didn't get promoted from that test. Now is see complete imbecile's who made it by score from this test. Just pathetic!!

Any word in second let of sgt test? If there was, it shows how much I give a shit. I just want to get my 20 and gtfo. Last promotional test I take. And to be honest, not really excited to take it.

For sergeants, go off part 1 of the latest exam and expire the list after a year or two and do a new test. Yeah, some people are going to complain but it is what it is. I dont think they have ever gone this far down on the list

I honestly don’t see promotions to detective or sgt. Yes, sgts are low but the department cant afford taking any more POs out of the districts. I can’t even really see them taking any sgts out of the districts to make Lts.. I really don’t see this one happening.

There is only one commander of the airports, not one for each, and if they think this retard is going to be able to handle the Big Airport, they’re sadly mistaken. MDW is bush league compared to ORD. She won’t be able to handle it over there.

You honestly believe we'll be "just getting to the deserving" once we reach the person who had a worse score than 999 other people who took the test? That's just unbelievably stupid. No one in that top 999 scores was deserving? They all cheated or are just good test takers, with no street smarts or ability to lead? Just accept the fact that you probably shouldn't be promoted. They're already scraping the bottom of the barrel with this list, and you think they need to go 200 deeper to get to the good ones? Put down the pipe. They piss test you when you get promoted.

When O. W. Wilson became the superintendent in the early 1960's the city promoted to 800+ from the sergeant's list.
Since there was so much cheating and scandals, promote 500 hundred off of the last list because Eddie literally “fucked” them out of a promotion.
The department needs to do a big promotion. The biggest ever. How can the department dump on pillows for not meeting the consent decree if they don’t promote more supervisors?
The department keeps promoting small classes and they are not exceeding the amount that will soon retire.
