Why Are Taxes So High?

This was mentioned in the comment section a few times:

We're told it's quite eye-opening and outlines quite a bit of why taxes are increasing over the rate of inflation.

Tax burden has been shifted from Corporations to Individuals.

search: corporate vs individual tax rate graph

Amazon pays no significant taxes. Why??

Also, look at the maximum rates for wealthy individuals- is historically low.

Wealthy are mega-accumulating wealth and buying influence. Oligarchs.

I clicked the link... THEN MY TAXES WHEN UP AS A RESULT OF READING THE REPORT! What the fuck Cook County Assessor...

One cannot even read about tax increases without also being subjected to more and more tax increases. Truly Chi-town is the envy of all other Democrat run cities.

Corporations pander to the politicians and make financial contributions. Then they leave when the going gets tough.

The answer: big government. Taxes feed the government, therefore when it grows, so does the need for more taxes. You want lower taxes? Stop voting for people who promise more free shit. When you hear these politicians say "I want to create/fund/implement/support XYZ programs for the community" that translates to "I want to take more of your money to pay for unnecessary or redundant jobs for my friends/contributors". Meanwhile, the average taxpayer gets little to zero service while his taxes continue to go up.

Remember that your taxes went up because of politics and politicians, and their friends and "business associates". Remember that every time you asked for a patronage, do-nothing job, your taxes went up to pay for it. Remember that every time you voted a crooked politician back into office, your taxes went up to pay for it. Remember that every time you demanded new and better parks, schools, roads, police/fire/medical services, your taxes paid for it. And always remember that many local governments are corrupt, incompetent, and would sell their own mothers to cut backroom deals, save a buck by spending a hundred, and other nonsense.

They are going up and up we have a peeled our taxes numerous times and got no results. We are being raped literally without a mask by the Democratic administration Not just this mayor but previous Administrations. People are getting out of here so quickly, many are waiting though until President Trump takes office again to get the hell out of here, funny how they’re saying the president has a 93% chance of not winning the election only at 7% chance of winning people hate law and order they hate honesty they hate having to pay their bills that’s why they want as president out the Democrats want to continue ripping off stealing lying as they always do business as usual fuck the people fuck the taxpayers that’s what Democrats do.

My real estate value hasn’t risen in 20 years according to zillow but the tax bill is just about double for a single level ranch, unlike the heavily guarded 2-1/2 story multi bedroom rehab Logan Sq führerbunker which is still enjoying a pre-assessed rate.

Rahm’s budget 2018: $8.6 Billion
Rahm’s budget 2019: $10.6 Billion
Larri’s budget 2020: $11.6 Billion
Larri’s budget 2021: $12.7 Billion
The average deficit at one time was in the $600 -700 million range... UNTIL LARRI TOOK OVER. She doubled it including a 2020 $3 million increase to the Mayors Office budget.

Annual, guaranteed no quibble CPS tax levy of 0.383% on top of a cut of TIF surpluses, and a quick Contract resolution and CPS has been Closed, C-L-O-E-D SINCE MARCH. Not a single layoff, but some where allowed Covid Unemployment Compensation.

Looky here, a possible and likely CPD hiring freeze on top of a budget cut:
BUT WHAT YOU MAY NOT KNOW ...
2021 CPD Budget calls for 600 less PO’s and $60 Million budget cut
whereas
2021 CFD Budget 34 less personnel BUT a $60.5 Million budget Increase.

Yeah, Manic Angry Toad Larri knows more about a city budget than a Paul Vallas. The city keeps saying they’re broke and the budget has been going up a Billion every year. Switch and bait and lying big mouth bass is the mayor.

Amazon would not be paying taxes even if they were taxed to the max. They would simply collect the tax from people who use their services. No corporation pays taxes, just the people who use their services.

As a single person household, between home, cars, toys, and my love for food- it’s going to become not feasible to sustain basic life without working myself to death in a few years. I’m honestly bailing 3-5 years, to survive. True story. FAWK YOU CORRUPT ASS ILLINOIS

Are those tax amounts on pages 8 & 9 correct?? Those numbers are more than a mortgage payment. Retired from the military and bought a house in the NW Florida Panhandle in 1991 and taxes were about $1,000.00. Now , 30 years later they just went over $2,000,00. I live in a small city of 30,000 people. My house is on one acre and is 2,650 square feet with an attached 2 car garage.

I guess it is privilege and expense to live in Cook County or Chicago. ex Marquette Park Person

Look at some of the taxes in the collar counties, they are eye popping. Better schools and environments but the beast is beginning an invasion in some areas and starting to soil the gene pool.
