Says 5 and 45 now. The only reason there's not more of a body count seems to be people are shivering too much to aim well.

Reloading has gone from a nice winter time hobby to an "Essential Business". I've had to reload for my students for their concealed carry qualification shoots. At the ranges it's; "Sorry sir, we're out of 9mm, .380, 45 ACP and .38 Spl." Glad I stocked up on components after the last rush.
Total of 3839 people shot and wounded/killed in Chicago through Nov 22nd. Of that total the Chicago Police Department is responsible for a grand total of 17, which .44% of the total. So less than 1/2 of 1% of the people shot in Chicago were shot by Police Officers but we need to reimagine policing.
Are they using .303 British?
It seems as though the South and West sides of Chicago are not abiding by the Stay at Home LOCK DOWN.

The Chicago shoot to kill ratio among thugs hovers around 5:1 most of the time, give or take. This past weekend was much, much worse. God only knows how many SHOTS are fired that never come close to the target(s). Most hunters would STARVE TO DEATH with a ratio like that. Southern hunters would be laughed out of the local diners with numbers like that. Reckon a deer would give you 5 tries? I've often wondered if some of you off-duty or retired law enforcement officers couldn't spend some range time with some of these thugs to show them how to hold, and fire, a sidearm. Maybe introduce them to the concept of "aiming"? Maybe even give them a certificate when they learn to shoot their sidearms vertically instead of horizontally? Maybe the new numbers would make the prosecutor happier??? Just saying...

Went with a neighbor to the Cabela's in Hammond, Indiana right off 94. No Pistol ammo at all. Only ammo is stock was 20 gauge shot gun shells.
The line to buy guns was a mile long. I asked the clerk how could they sell guns without ammo? He laughed and said guns sales have not slowed down at all - people must be figuring out where to buy bullets.

You can hardly get ammo in the southern city that I live in. When you go into a gun store it looks like a plague of locust have gone through the ammo section. You CAN order it, and pick it up when it comes in. This just means a good portion goes in the back and out the front and never sees the shelf. There is no picking up ammo of any type or caliber on an impulse.
My Enfields do.
No ammunition anywhere , but the shorties have ammunition to spare .
1 smokewagon wheelgun, 1 stick, 2 speedloaders, 6 bullets in the gun of which 1 is silver tipped so the werewolf doesn't sneak up on you when you are in the hole meditating.

Target Sports USA will ship to Chicago address. Bought ammo from them many times. Last purchase was in July. They are currently out of all 9MM, 223, and 5.56 however
Where the fuck are the bangers getting their ammo?? Stealing off rail cars? Out of state?
A tip for us IROCC permit holders FWIW:
Find a range which sells ammo ONLY to people shooting on their range.
It’ll take some doing but they’re out there.
When you go to the range buy at least two boxes if possible.
Place your target at the 7yard line.
Fire at least 24 rounds at this distance.
If you place AT LEAST 21 rounds in center mass you’ll be good to go.
Because even if you miss at the 15 yard distance on qualification day, you
will have successfully practiced enough at the mid range distance of 7yards
to qualify.
Save the remaining ammo for future practice days or for the actual qualification.
This is what I’ve had to do due to the ammo shortage.

If you waited until now, it's too late.
Major caliber JHP handgun ammo has dried up.
Major rifle calibers have dried up too.
If any of the above shows up, it's gone
before it's even put on display.
Thankfully, we have Free State dwelling kindred
who will help out in a pinch if it ever becomes
a necessity.

Ammo companies have gotten really stupid
with calling 25 round packages a "box" of ammo
while charging the fullest of boats for the stuff.
Even 12 gauge low-brass "club loads" are scarce from
what we see, let alone the usual high brass and the
fearsome 3" and 3.5" "shit knocker outer" loads we
keep the gas gun stoked with.
2.75" in a pump-gun is QUITE sufficient so why knock
your own shit loose trying to knock the shit out of
something/somebody else that has risen to your urgent
notice, observation and fixation?

Thanks for the tip but it doesn’t work that way. First you only fire 12 rounds at 7 yards. Next 12 rounds at 15 yards and final 6 at 25 yards. You have a good point about the close range because you should be able to hit all 24 at the 7 and 15 distance. Problem is the IROCC instructors are all great guys but make you fire all 30 rounds
I tried for the last 4 years to do what you said, They wouldn’t go for it. I tried to explain if I bought a box of 50 and stopped at 21 when I already hit 21 I could use the same box for next year. Even explained if I use 25 I could use it next year. Wouldn’t do it and even when I said if I fired 30 I would only have 20 for next year
Keep using them ammo on your fellow Democrat...
We Are All Replaceable
As I recall the course is 12 rounds at 5 yards. 12 rounds at 7 yards. Then 6 rounds at 15 yards. At least it was last May when I qualified.
What I suggested above was for practice prior to the qualification so you can conserve ammunition.

For handguns and/or ammo, check small town stores like Big R/SportsAField, Rural king, Farm King. Take a ride in the country to Watseka, Morris, Kewanee, etc. Look up those store locations and call ahead. Locally owned places also carry decent reloads for practice. Fresh country air will clear your mind and give you hope for the future, even in Ill-noise.

But we're surprised by the number of alleged retired
coppers complaining about being caught with their foot
off the bag regarding the ammo shortage when said shortage
was writ large on the wall by Sparkle-Farts and his minions
beginning with his second term.
They said out of their own mouths that they were going
to go in on domestic ammo and firearms manufacturers.
We can't exactly recall but didn't they put a few
large lead, copper and brass smelters out of business?

Ammo shortages and higher prices are a myth. You just have to shop around. Most gun stores are price gouging.
One of the Problems is the proliferation of calibers. IF there were fewer calibers, the Ammo Manufacturers could achieve a better Economy of Scale by concentrating on fewer calibers. We WON WW1 with TWO(2) Small Arms Calibers: . 30-06 and .45. We WON WW2 with FOUR(4) Small Arms Calibers: the aforementioned .30-06 and .45 as well as .30 Carbine and .50 Browning MG( 12.7 x 99). AFTER the War, NATO standardized on THREE(3) Small Arms Calibers: 7.62 x 51 ( civilian: .308 Winchester), 9 x 19, and .50 BMG (12.7 x 99). After Vietnam, US got NATO to standardize 5.56 x 45 ( civilian.223) That’s it!
Forty years ago, Law and Order was maintained with . 38 Special ( plus P) 158 grain LSWCP and 12 Gage Buckshot. Don’t know what HBT had for Sniper Rifles. Now, we have too many “ Designer Boutique” weapons and ammunition.
