Pick a Strategy Please

It's not that the CPD is rudderless.....it just is led by people with no sense of direction, nor any ability to actually come up with an effective strategy:

  • The Chicago Police Department plans to add as many as 100 officers to its citywide narcotics unit, police confirmed Thursday, signaling a policy reversal from earlier this year when top officials placed more of an emphasis on supporting neighborhood patrols.

No time frame has been disclosed for when the narcotics unit would be expanded, but police sources said the process would be underway shortly.

Police spokesman [...] confirmed the unit would add about 80 to 100 more cops and said Superintendent David Brown wanted the unit to focus more on lengthy investigations into “mid-level” and “upper-level” drug dealers.

We're pretty sure they were already doing that, and one might make the argument that diverting resources away from that led directly to the massive uptick in murders this year (see post above this one).

We're betting that too many connected persons were entrenched that the current command couldn't move out of their spots, so they launched almost the entire unit, and now they'll fill it with their chosen ones.

Gee, who would have ever thought that the people selling dope are also the same people doing shootings and murders.
Never would have guessed.

So yeah, taking dope dealers off the street does help lower the murder rate.
Those 100 officers coding burglar alarms and scratching out paper jobs don’t lower the murder rate.
Take the offenders out of play. It’s common sense.

Put Voight from Chicago PD in charge. Problems solved. Not kidding at all you got a clueless clown posing as Superintendent now why not an actor filling the role. This would be a giant upgrade. Someone should sit Brownie down and force him to watch all seasons of Blue Bloods to teach him how to run a police department. Any and all issues that the CPD currently is dealing with have been addresses properly on that show. Problem being Brown lacks the backbone and wisdom of Tom Sellicks NYPD Commissioner. Backbone and Balls are needed for the job and Brown is sadly lacking in both. But it is fun watching his flailing efforts. Better than any scripted police show. At least he has answered that nagging question of, “What can Brown do for you”. NOTHING, NADA, ZERO, ZIP. Total fail!

Not a single worthy cop in the entire CAPS organization from top to bottom.

OK, every honest writer or reader here should understand - we Chicagoans live under "Anarcho-Tyranny". This was a term created by the late Conservative writer Sam Francis to describe American urban/university communities that have violent criminal anarchy (sh** like car jackings, drive by shootings, wilding mobs attacking people and looting without fear of arrest, prosecution and punishment) and government tyranny - where Lib Leftist BLM government/academics/media bully average citizens in a thousand petty ways - things like prohibiting healthy citizens from walking on the beach, or preventing Conservatives to attend church services.

So what do we do?

1) Flee in terror. But understand lots of once nice, sane, safe Conservative places like Kenosha WI, Salt Lake City Utah and Park Slope Utah, Portland Oregon and state politics in Oregon aren't safe and Conservative anymore - leftists people are migrating and just huge numbers of undocumented, Section 8 welfare people are moving to Conservative places. The anti White, cult marxists have made their long march through our institutions in places like the University of Chicago English Literature PHD program. U Chicago English PHD program basically just ended teaching English literature to concentrate full time on BLM BlackLivesMatter activism!

I'll share some other suggestions, observations as this is too much for one comment.

Just understand everyone - we live in a very rough and very corrupt and tyrannical city/society. Please put away any allusions that Chicago is going to be made back in to the Norman Rockwell, Ike, Leave it to Beaver, Mayor Daley Sr. world we so muck liked. That Chicago is....

Gone with the Wind.

The problem is simple: NO ACCOUNTABILITY, zero. Top shits on bottom, bottom hates top, middle stuck and annoyed.

Grow some fortitude, Cook/Chicago... all problems circle back to accountability. My favorite co-workers, leaders, and associates at this agency all retired or finally grew sick of this place. I do believe it's possible to save this area, but I can't do it alone.

Politics aside, just be better humans. Actions have consequences, people need to learn/rehab and ideally not re-offend.

Not a big fan of Phil but he had the right idea about street corner conspiracies. These demand active ASA involvement-- will this States Attorney cooperate? With the conspiracies comes some knowledge of COH and the correct equipment for filming and surveillance. Do these items still exist. Writing a COH is no big deal if you have a cooperating ASA. As for connecting street corners, a Pen Register used to be used as a requirement if you were going for a wiretap. Do the ASAs have the experience and how many experienced officers and sergeants are left? Just doing hand to hands with out the film and coh-- will lose many in court. Worked narcotics for 10 years and been retired for 13. If there is no real cooperation with States Attorneys and a lack of experience, there will be problems. Stay safe out there.

From people in HQ and City Hall: Lightfoot and the aldermen are getting pissed and downright worried that growing marijuana street sales are cutting into the legal weed dispensaries (and government’s) profits. The street value of weed went up 15-20% as the greedy politicians are taxing “leaf” back underground. So to be clear...in 2019 enforcement of marijuana laws and the War on Drugs was racist. Now in 2020 enforcement of marijuana laws aren’t racist but necessary for law and order. {snicker} Now they want Narcotics to go after street weed dealers. You can’t make this stuff up...

That's pretty much where I am on it...Western culture has been building a great and glorious cathedral to booze and drugs since the 1960s, yet people still question why it's so prevalent and shoddily enforced?? If politicians had any moral integrity they'd either go ahead and legalize just about everything or prosecute a few thousand prominent members of the infotainment industry for corrupting the youth--not like the powers that be haven't been campaigning on that for decades--but they won't since it's all just part of the shell game to keep the sheeple under thumb.

When Colorado added the legal weed they were after the street dealers hard. Chicago not so much. If Chicago wants to take over the weed game they need to take over the corner like street dealers. But this for that to work you need hard buy in from the ASA and the department. No more just letting people/folks walking away with their little dime bag bc it isn’t worth the time to process. Possession in any unapproved container needs to be charged.

And what po currently working can say they had a great summer of 2020? how many times were we "deployed" how many rdo's cancelled and the poor po's with the bad dog that worked 12 straight days with no rdo's?

I noticed that the numbers have declined. 189 still have a lot of dead weight in the unit. Lot of officers still stick in doing one buy and they’re done for the day. Female officer TJ been on the medical with a bogus IOD and every since I’ve known her she just does what the fuck she wants to do. Her juice must be pretty heavy because she’s useless. The emergency rooms are overloaded all over Colorado because of legal weed. The legal weed has been refined to new powerful strengths. The younger set is paying the price with mental health issues. A very good article by emergency room physicians in The Epock Times. And, it also seems that the legal weed trade has not put a dent in the street trade.

“ Not a big fan of Phil but he had the right idea about street corner conspiracies.”

- those results came of Clinton Crime Bill lock’m up crackdowns.
Things different then, but remember Shortshanks - the inventor of Sanctuary City that eventually led to the illegal immigration influx and drug trafficking thru NAFTA. Easy pickings as far as CB #’s go, even OPS had some commonsense back then and streets were cleaned up.
Dope still comes in from the southern border and not as much anymore in lots from China ship containers due to Trumps tariffing - but that like CookCo prosecutions will change for the worse again.

Democrats are not interested in narcotics trafficking that comes in with open borders and selling it will eventually become no criminal or legal throughout the USA. Need an example ...look to Mexico and much of South America governments, then Oregon and Washington states.

The whole city is up for grabs, promotions should be based on accomplishment, time in the job, where you’ve been and what you’ve done in your career. Not just a promoting friendship circle. A lot of experience gets left out because the friendship circle is deep. Lori and Brown start requesting resumes in order to promote the chosen. Bring back merit and you will see who’s qualified. I know some big dummies that got promoted meritorious but they were ass kissers and never was a worker. That’s a big difference when you send a sergeant to lead the troops but only worked in a cushy spot and don’t know shit so how will he know where to deploy his staff. This is the main reason we’re losing the battle because the experience is retiring and tired of being overlooked fir promotions
