I have been with the CFD over thirty years, when I saw this photo I was pissed. Please know SCC the overwhelming majority of CFD stand with the CPD. As first responders, we, like you, see the crap in these streets and know the reality the mass media hides and we deal with. I was there working the line, it was a hot one that day. It was a pretty big group of protesters posted on Division. We got called pigs, assholes, losers. They yelled out threats wishing us dead, wishing our wives got raped. You know, the regular stuff always spewed from BLM, Antifa and the left. Then this idiot addressed the protesters on duty in full uniform showing full support to who else... the protesters. I along with many other officers to my left and right couldn't believe our ears and eyes. You should have saw it. His words while on duty in a supervisor position with CFD empowered the protesters as they cheered him on. What a traitor.
I was there that day. The firemen, in true firemen fashion, bathed in the love showered on them by hundreds of anti American, anti police, protesters. Instead of telling them to keep their praise and get out of the street, they gave them food and water and honked their horns in solidarity

Retired CFD here. I attended the pro-police rally in Grant park. I have nothing but gratitude for our brothers in blue and the difficult job they do. The vast majority of the department feels the same.

I beleive that at the very least using a CFD bullhorn would be a city of chicago ethics violation. Using City of Chgo equipment for non-city business is addressed in the ethics test every Chgo employee is required to take/pass every year.
Fire dept is in for a big change in the coming years,word on the street has lori going to arbitration if she can't get manpower changes from the union.She will cry poor because of the china flu!
