It's funny how the department is hell bent on getting the required training in by years end to satisfy the consent decree requirements. Where is the urgency to meet the sgt to p/o ratio required by the decree. Anyone out there thinking that this is really about fucking with the rank and file and is being orchestrated by our very own queen brillo pad. .

One more small class off the old list and then they are going off of the new list. The city and Brown want new test badly.
Approximately 50 more off of the old list and they are scrapping it.
Well they’re definitely going to have to make another class so that will put the old list close to if not over 800. Wow...
I no longer care. Too many changes in the general orders, and direction of the department over the last 5 years. Too many things I personally disagree with, and couldn't promote, or enforce.
OT- who’s the Sgt who works at Olive Harvey for officer wellness? She seems like a real winner, I’m sure she made rank on merit.

An extra 1K a month in pension for life?
I want to make it cause I want to get called "SGT." because finally people will give me respect. Then I'll tell everyone how kool and badass I was as a blue shirt......... Damn my alarm just woke me up. That was a bad dream but I know people that think that way.
With all the retirements they have already met that ratio.

Love going to the Requests for Supervisor from the cars that can’t make a decision to save their lives or from disgruntled callers who were unhappy with the officers who think they are too good to write paper.
So fun being one of the few CIT trained officers in the entire district as the newbies aren’t trained yet. Should be mandatory and taught 8n the academy.
The new officers are different. Whiny and entitled. And can’t write worth shit.
I sometimes wonder if someone them even went through the Academy.

Sgt is a difficult job, I did it for a big chunk of my time, Lt used to be a good job, better than Sgt, but with being understaffed, it also sucks. I should have been a garbage man, could have worked my way up to driver, packed a lunch and drank whiskey all day long.

There will be another test for Part 1 in order to test the officers that were not eligible "the first go around". That is what the new directive will be at the end of the 1st quarter. It will also allow anyone that took the first part already to take it again, if you choose. That said, if you already "passed" Part 1 and you retake it and fail then you are out. If you previously failed Part 1 you get another bite of the apple, if you "pass" you are back in the game. In addition, be aware that the final "rank" scores will be "diverse". What the hell does that mean? Now get ready for the kick in the ass: the final rank score will be weighted to give minorities "extra credit due to the fact that minorities have been required to endure systemic racism the City of Chicago deems it appropriate and just to take race, socio-economic and other biased disadvantages into consideration regarding promotions within the Chicago Police Department. This policy is being put in place in order to ensure that a diverse supervisory staff that is reflective of the community and one that can understand the hardships that systemic racism has brought to a major part of our community is in place to better serve the citizens of Chicago". Trust me on this. I work as a boss in Human Resources and have been on the job a long time. I know, it sucks. Just telling it like it is. God bless, stay safe.
If the administration of part 2 is anything different than what was originally delineated, I can assure you I will be filing a grievance, and possibly a lawsuit.
This city is definitely messed up, but you can’t change the rules to the game in the middle of it.
There are more than a few people who did not take part I because they did not agree with how part 2 was being administered.
Had they known that the city was planning to change it to a more suitable format- they likely would have taken part 1.
The bait and switch- if done, will cause more headaches and delays for the city.
Word from HQ will be a mostly merit class. The Sup wants to see a very diverse class and that’s not going to happen off the list. From a good source.
Use scores from part one , passing score 70% and above .
That 60% passing was a typo .

I have the answers to the next exam and a phone call if I need it. But everyone keep on going to study groups...the exempts need the vacation money.

Moore is her name. Extremely ignorant and condescending...I walked in with a guy who was also a sergeant when she proceeded to demand very condescending that he wear his mask properly or she was going to remove him from the class. The sgt looked at her walked past her and sat in the class. Then during one of the breaks several officers were standing out side the lobby doors which lock from the outside and she refused to open the doors telling the officers to find another door that was unlocked. Just piss poor attitude for no good reason.
Who care about the Sgt test. When is the next canine test?

Not true. Sgt merit packets haven’t been submitted in over a year. No interviews were done with the supe as required by shackman. This list will be 50 from the list. No merit. Merit will be back in a big way with the next list.
Top 100. Stop it. If so, had the last Sgt exam. Only way some can pass

That lack of a Sgt barges into class cutting off the instructor and acts like she’s the superintendent trying to be a hard ass. God, if only we had semi decent people supervising or teaching classes...but that’s to much to ask for. Her spot should be filled with a deserving Sgt who’s on their last leg of their career.

The sgt at Officer wellness was very ignorant treating officers like trash!
I find the comments regarding the SGT from wellness class interesting. I also walked into the class and observed this SGT show up at 2pm to yell at us regarding wearing our masks, and informing us to sign in. SGT where were you at 8am? Also, this is about our wellness, so lets act like an adult and treat each of us with respect. Another merit sgt.....
sarge at olive Harvey doesn't show up with sign in sheet until after 12:00pm
nice hours , then the sarge , yells at poleece if mask is down , although everyone is social distancing
