Normal people call it looting and riots. Bleeding heart liberal social justice warriors and democratic politicians call it free speech. Why do we always hear about the governor and mayor complaining about too many people in restaurants and bars but never about the hundreds protesting and rioting ?
Why don’t they treat these specialized units like firefighters. Instead of disrupting the whole dept. Have officers in these units. Have them sleep at work, remain at work when they are awake. Pay them for 8 hours normal time, 16 hours overtime, everyday. And cancel the day off the rest of the dept only when necessary. Then revert those officers back when normal operations resume.
Once again Lightfoot shows her police officers ZERO compassion. All year spontaneous canceled days off. Change in hours. 12hr days etc. Often times for no reason at all other than being a preemptive strike to prevent a situation she created. But she feels that the police are so insignificant and hated that they aren’t even worth giving a contract to after nearly 4 years. It makes all this working a much harder pill to swallow when you’re treated like garbage by Lightfoot.

So the lesson is not to reveal too much about where you work and specific parts of your life. That seems pretty common sense to me. One could just leave it at, let it burn and FU Larry Lightweight. They say the council report found references that matched up with specific details about Kobel’s life, family and 28-year career in several of his comments. Rumor on an LEO group I belong to on Facebook says there was a disagreement between two of the admins about whether to allow one to disclose to members that he (or she, I guess is possible) voted for Biden. Other admin went ballistic and deleted the board - again, may not be the whole story.

im retired from the trades. we routinely worked 7/12 s for months at a time in heavy industry usually in the winter. real non stop work, no warming up sitting anywhere. no days off. if you have to be off youre replaced. it is what it is to earn money. anyway. office workers who have every holiday and weeked off,even friends and family will never understand what exhaustion feels like. its like someone who lives in florida watching a movie about a hiker lost in the yukon in the winter. physical work and mental exhaustion is a CONCEPT to them. now you take political hacks in city hall and police hq who rarely put in a solid 8 hrs and have every concievable make believe holiday and the days before and after off, your struggles are just a CONCEPT to them. they will never understand! they would never work those hours thats why they suck their way into management. this is totally on your " union ". if we have had enough we can always lose the ot and just walk off and wait for another job. nobodys holding our career over our heads. you MUST hold the fop accountable and this must be adressed contractually. NOBODY performs well without adequite sleep and the occasional adreniline dump on patrol will destroy your nerves. no other job is FORCED to do this including the military they get rotated out of combat for r&r in nice places. hold the fop s feet to the fire, there has to be limits on how many days and hours in a row you are forced to work. tired people make mistakes.
