The level of crime going on is not sustainable. We are going from job to job. Not enough manpower on the streets. Businesses permanently closed, schools temporarily closed, houses disappearing, buildings destroyed and for rent signs and houses for sale everywhere. A lot of home owners are not putting a dime into their homes. Jobs leaving the city and people too. Now let’s worry about traffic stops and harass the people working. Traffic stops are the problem. It sounds like let’s tax the residents with fees. I won’t be stopping anyone unless I see a clear braking of the law on a hazardous violation. I did not sign up to help destroy the community members pocketbook. How is this going to help community relations, which are at an all time low. Per the Department. PJ2 talked about traffic stops and us not following traffic laws. Scene then I follow all traffic laws.

Treat cops like shit, fire cops, charge cops criminally, screw cops on pension contributions, and fail to negotiate a contract in good faith, then ask cops to produce. What a fucking circus!!!
Gotta summit those strategdys to fight the crimes and the covids. Every car on a traffic mission? Who answers the calls for service? What happens when someone consistently has a traffic mission with no stops? What happens when those traffic missions result in TVBs, taking multiple units off the street for traffic? Does that help stop the violence? Traffic missions work when the focus isn't really traffic, and when the officers actually make stops. With the current climate, and extra paperwork required for anything but a completely cooperative and compliant subject of a stop, this will decrease available manpower, result in lower morale, have no positive effect on violent crimes, and end up being used to pressure officers into a quota-type system of policing. And we all know how that works out. Should we be making traffic stops? Absolutely. Do traffic stops get guns and drugs and violent offenders off the streets? Absolutely. Is any of this practical on today's Chicago police department? Nope! Do the bad guys know all they have to do now is refuse to pull over, and our hands are tied? I'm surprised anyone but the most law-abiding of citizens even dreams of pulling over for the police in this city anymore. All they have to do is just keep on trucking and there's nothing we can do without jeopardizing our jobs and freedom. Yet another "strategdy" that just won't work out the way they think it will.

Evelynna must be a CPS Honors Grad who is exempt from the rules of writing the English language.

Some years back I had a law suit against the city and forced two exempts to sit for a deposition.Neither one had the most basic idea of what many general orders actually stated. So, it is no wonder that these merit promotees, who never actually passed a competitive promotional examination, did not really know much about department policies. It was comical to watch them try to answer the questions.
This will no doubt improve the general perception of police among the citizens.
Do we need to balance the number of each ethnic group we stop so we’re not accused of being Racist. Can we stop the same vehicle more than once to balance the numbers? Can we notify the other cars in the district that a vehicle containing a scarce ethnic group is coming their way? Just axing.

I agree with all that this is bullshit, however, this is the truth as bad as it sounds...if your district and watches continue to put 0's the Dept will continue to pull officers out of your district to the detail program...reason being (which makes no sense but it is our dept after all) that if no one does traffic stops then its believed that no crime exists in your district, so officers will be pulled. I know this sounds stupid and you may not believe me but just go ahead and put 0's and see what happens to your districts manpower!! I see numbers for myself that robberies, carjackings and thefts are thru the roof but this is the bullshit HQ is coming up with. You know the saying...no victim no crime? well, no crime no officers. This isn’t about blowing off a call. This is about getting numbers for the sake of getting numbers, and making some over-promoted boss look good to the other over-promoted bosses. McCarthy got us into this consent decree mess with his bullshit contact cards campaigns. This is no different. Traffic missions for what? Putting yourself in the trick bag is all that is doing. Answer your calls, back eachother up give the needed report, and go home. We all know sometimes shit goes sideways. When that happens, we’ll deal with it. We don’t need to initiate stuff, with the potential for it to go sideways. That’s asking for trouble. It should be straight zeroes across the board. Let the white shirts go get the numbers.

True story circa late 1990's. Sgt met us on the street and said the lt is pissed at you guys, she wants something on the humper tonight. Right before check off my partner writes "SOMETHING" on the bottom of the humper and turns it into the sgt. His eyes popped right out of his head and he never asked for anything again. Fuck em, let them dress up and play small soldier if they are so worried about activity.
