Why don’t you try asking someone from both of these units what it is they really do or how they came about. Both units started from the disbanded Gun, Gangs and Sat teams. CIRT hasn’t not gained, on the contrary they have lost people from the unit and they are short Sgt’s as well. They have less than 100 cops including the secretaries and less than 10 Sgt’s. CST also started from the disbanded area teams but they have been supplementing their numbers through volunteers or voluntold. And then you have the downtown cars from every district which are not allowed to respond to jobs while downtown.

They are most likely setting this up so they can maximize the number of officer hours that will be reimbursed by the fed once any future coronavirus stimulus packages go through. I understand the point you are making as I believe NO ONE with less than 15 years should be working inside. The problem with many people who work at 35th is that they are extremely lazy and incapable of even the basics of work. The bosses are scared to say anything to anyone so the product you get is useless p.o’s. They bring in young people because they will actually work and not complain and beef about doing the most simplistic of tasks. It’s the same cycle everywhere though. Instead of confronting extreme laziness they just double down on failure and bring more people in. The only people who suffer from the bosses incompetence are the citizens and the district watches and no politician cares about that no matter how much lying they do in news conferences. 762..that is the magic number. Superintendent Brown has demanded that Chicago stays below 2016 total of 762 homicides. Street stops are his strategy along with pitting CST , his huge flop , against tact. In a meeting today it was spelled out that brown compares tact numbers vs CST daily an implied that there is room for one or the other. Again , an outsider brought in who has no idea how the department is set up or functions. He makes crazy operational decisions , not knowing how things work then doesn’t understand why it doesn’t work. Like back in august / September when all tact teams on days and afternoons were sitting on Michigan ave, and brown was wondering when they had no activity in their home districts. His reasoning was everyone has at least 3 teams , only 2 are downtown.....idiot didn’t realize one team is On days ( downtown) , one on nights ( downtown) and one day off.
Brown and lightfoot pour resources into Englewood, Austin and Garfield park. Theses neighborhoods have been cell pools for decades , they ain’t getting better no matter how many police officers flood them . To do this the rest of the city has been stripped of resources. Putting the once decent neighborhoods at risk carjackings, shooting and robberies skyrocketing everywhere because the bad guys are leaving the areas flooded by police and roaming to less protected neighborhoods. The usual democratic way to make things equal, lower everything to the lowest denominator instead of building thing up.

Can someone please explain why officers with 2 years on the job are working inside at 35 th street HQ. When is the city going to break this cycle of bringing officers inside with no time on the job. If you want to be a desk dolly there are plenty of jobs out there for you. Now put your big pants on , strap on the 9mm, and get your pansy asses outside and be the police. Just take a look on the 5th floor Mayor!

Just fine and dandy for us here at Narcotics. Why, we could really use the help. I mean 3 to 5 officers of that one hundred will actually buy, a few more will be enforcement, and the rest will dress in their surveillance outfits pretending to be on super cool top secret missions.At least Kimble knew what an actual investigation required. The current leadership in the unit is clueless.It's embarrassing.
Great leadership at the CST teams go get 5 Tss cards then go home, someone should start looking into this sham of a unit. Being led by Larry Moe and Fkn Curly. Texas Brown you really are a fool you let that rat Barz talk you into a Deputy spot. Go ride your horse back to Texas you are destroying this department.

How about the Sgt at HQ who works 3rd watch and somehow gets his daughter up there with less than 5 yr on the job on midnights-in the same unit..Come on that’s crazy..what’s worse father and daughter working in same unit or the fact that the daughter is hidden inside with only 3 yr on the job..take away Academy time and the daughter has been in the unit for over a year already..which means she has worked the streets for no more than 18 months and right inside with Daddy...Someone should lose their spot for allowing this..pay your dues like everyone else!!! ANYONE OUT THERE LISTENING?? Perhaps time for a little phone call about this one!! I’m sure with the shortage of officers on the street a reporter would love this one...does Larry know about this? How about Brownie? The father and daughter should be ashamed of themselves!

Oh relax, they have had husbands and wives working in the same the Areas Detective Division for years. This has been going on for years.
