014 Days

Last week in 014, Groot's own District (click for larger version):

So downtown gets one of the two sergeants working. And the only 10-4 unit besides the wagon.

Early cars are 1411, 1421, 1471 with 1413, 1423 and 1433 down.

Late cars are 1412, 1422, 1432 with 1414, 1424 and 1434 down.

Fifty percent down across the board. What could go wrong?

Someone help translate that for me please. Not a PO here. So for example, 1420 and 1414 has NO CAR assigned. Am I to understand that 1420 and 1414 (and all the other blank beats) don't have cop patrolling and the beat and are completley empty? Sorry for the dumb question.

Talk of 1500 retirement in 2021.

No plans to hire replacements.
Not that there are replacements to be had anyway.

Fewer police on the street = fewer problems for the police to cause, in the eyes of the powers that be apparently.

If something does go wrong, it's Superintendent Brown's fault, right? Lightfoot is off the hook.

Be really, really careful out there. Your back-up and the rest of the cavalry are spread pretty thin. Not to mention all the enemies inside the building.

So it looks like if they have to send an incident team out that leaves 1410 and 1412 to handle the entire district. Why doesn't CPD have minimum manning like the CFD has? If the rig cannot be manned with the required number of personnel the rig is downed.

When Rahmulus short staffed Lakeview Sticky Buns Tunney would only whine about SCC but would not utter a peep against City Hall. Tact, foot, commander's office and CAPS are manned 100%. Leaving poor Patrol officers to fend for themselves no one willing to take the blame for mismanagement of manpower. But as others have already pointed out multiple times-nobody gives a shit about Patrol. Everyone looks away.

Running the title code 9161 for Units 715 & 716 reveals a total of 1035 POs detailed to them. A staggering figure. The organization is circumventing the contract to strip district law enforcement to service areas that, let’s be honest, already soak up far in excess of their contributions.

The citizens that pay the freight, particularly for bullshit like this, will eventually exercise the only option that remains.

Fleeing.

And we were just told at roll call they are taking more bodies from the districts and sending them to the community safety team. They're not replacing the bodies the districts already sent, they're just adding more bodies to the team and leaving the districts that much more undermanned.

Does Brown or any of the command staff know what they're doing? The decisions made in all of 2020 would say they don't.

The reality is downtown pays the bills. The city and states attorneys officials have enabled if not encouraged this lunacy. Downtown pays the bills. We lose it we're in trouble. 014 for example is filled with people who agree with the mayor on the leftist agenda. They don't want the police and most of the businesses are closed cause of COVID at night. Maybe the people building these houses in bucktown will stand up and say something but til then, this is what you get

FYI: districts are divided into 3 sectors. 10, 20, 30 sector. 1410, 1420,1430 are sector sgt units.
Beats are: early cars 1411,1413 1421, 1423, 1431, 1433
Late cars: 1412, 1414, 1422, 1424, 1432, 1434
Beat 1443 is a rapid car. Ideally rapid cars are to respond to “in-progress” cars in a sector...but in 014 district, 1443 is sent to downtown to a post at the river walk by trump tower.
There are no OT cars on 2nd watch in 014.

Larry Lightfoot wants CPD to be bear bones, thus decreasing police officers and NOT hiring to replace the officers retiring. The City of Chicago believes they are saving money by having less police officers instead of paying for more police officers. Won't this also fuck up the City's pension contributions to the officers by having less officers and NOT hiring?
