CFD Lawsuit Number?

Someone should probably keep an eye on this one....for the taxpayers' sake:

  • We have scandals on the fire side too.... would love to see this hit the papers. Chiefs exam given a few years ago. Cutoff has always been 70 as passing. This year they dip below and grab 10-15 people - because - you know - they scored the exam wrong....

    Chief walker was one of these people. We have 3 prominent black woman who love to get into cat fights at fires to see who is in charge. All 3 are dumber than a box of rocks.

    In a nutshell- Well about 2 months ago there was a high rise fire and chief walker wanted to be in charge - she was denied and sent in. She needed help putting on and turning on her SCBA. She left her radio in the car. She would not answer her radio when call - which In turn should have been a mayday - but [another] black Chief was answering for her. She somehow passed out in the stairwell and needed to be hospitalized.

    Fast forward a few days - now she is saying the white chiefs left her to die. Truth be told -black chiefs were [running] this whole fire and it wasn’t to the white chiefs got on scene and noticed she was missing and she was found by a white truck company who dragged her useless ass out. [...]

    She has now filed a lawsuit against the city. Maybe this will be the mail in the coffin for merit promotions... one could hope.

It's got all the drama a scandal needs:

  • testing inequities
  • "merit"
  • old white guys trying to kill the new minority girl

This one is right in the "progressive" wheelhouse.

We need sgts really bad. Test will be the 3rd week of February. They are making one more class of 60 and that’s it. The next 150 people on the sgts list have 86 percent being male whites. The city wants this list gone because they can’t go back to merit on this list or it would open up lawsuits. Whites need not apply is what this department is coming to.

What happened to the CFD mess at O’hare airport... it was mentioned a few days ago.. something about lieutenant(s) getting fired in retaliation for something? Can you give us more details? Are these guys gonna get their jobs back? Are the ones who had more than 20 years on still getting their pensions???

This individual has around 30 years on the CFD - I know as I was one of her instructors and can attest to the fact that she is barely educable. She passed up thousands of male test takers on the entrance exam to get a position that met her particular "Peter Principle".

She was promoted through the ranks via merit and/or "banding" - a curious and apparently arbitrary number added to the protected class' grades to attain the racial balance desired by the city (e.g. white test taker gets a final grade of 93 on the promotional exam, "band" number is 7, thus protected class test taker with a final exam score of 86 magically has the same number as whitey). Most FDs throughout US insist a minimum grade of 70 on a promotional exam before you can advance to Part 2 of that exam. A majority of FDs issue test results almost immediately where Chiraq takes around 2 years to publish final results!! Personally, through 4 exams, the fastest I received a final grade was around 8 months.

ALSO - many of these protected class and clouted individuals score low (no need to study, I'll get taken care of) on an exam that a civilian could score the same. Part 2 of the exam was the "oral" exam, where the magic occurred! The special people would get 100 on the oral portion while scoring low on the cognitive written exam (e.g. - protected class/clout having person gets 50 on the exam and 100 on the oral , that test taker would have a cumulative score of 75, which is passing!!) Of course this is without the "banding". This is a virtual impossibility according to a SME at U of C retained for a successful suit against city for taking points away from white promotional test takers while "protected class" test takers received additional points - Fair Testing suit. The SME stated there should be no more than a 10 point difference between oral and written test scores.

From what I understand part of her suit alleges she was promoted through the above phenomena and was unfit for the promotions (in so many words). I hope so as this may not only end merit promotions - it may kill the banding crap.

In a critical review of the catastrophe at the Cook Cty. bldg fire which killed 6 people stuck in the stairwell (a fire where the highest ranking chiefs on the scene were all results of quotas, banding, minority clout, and merit), retired Judge Abner Mikva, a noted libtard, criticized the CFD for its promotional process. This study never was presented to the public as the portions of the civil suit regarding the CFD, CPD, and Higginbottom were settled out of court.

Sure, the test will be given in February. There has not been a definite notice of the exam date. Most likely, the test is going to get cancelled and a new test will be administered. It has been over a year since Part One was offered. This is a perfect opportunity to delay the new test and to give more people a chance to take a promotional exam (the people who did not have enough time to take the test a year ago).

How Merit Came About for the CPD Sgt. Test. I am told merit cam about long before this but this is what I've got.

Adams v. City of Chicago, 135 F.3d 1150 (1998)
• Although 46% of those who took the Chicago Police Sgt. Test were minorities, only 12% were later eligible for promotion. P’s alleged disparate impact and a violation of Title VII.
• A lot of this had to do with a request for a preliminary injunction (enjoin the promotions being made in rank order), which was denied due to lack of irreparable injury (could get backpay).
• 1993 Sgt’s test (administered in first 3 months of 1994). 3 parts, the third being oral. There was no meritorious whatsoever. 4,700 took parts I (31.8% were black, 10.8% were Hispanic, and 56.4% were white) and II, of which 1,900 went on to part III. But after all three parts were graded, about 88% of those designated to be promoted to sergeant were white and 12% were minority.
• HOW MERIT CAME ABOUT.
• The plaintiffs filed an interlocutory appeal. However, during the pendency of this appeal, the City of Chicago initiated a Blue Ribbon Task Force to review the Department's promotion practices. By consent of the parties, argument on this appeal was delayed until the Task Force issued its report. In May 1997, the Task Force issued its report recommending that up to 30% of the Department's promotions to sergeant be made on the basis of "merit." This meant that current sergeants and lieutenants would pick 30% of the police officers that would be promoted to sergeant. However, the report also recommends that the current test continue to be used to assure that sergeants given "merit" promotions meet a minimum level of competence.

Yes a few Lts that were assigned at one time at the airport were fired last month. I’m not sure if they will be getting their jobs back,
I sure hope that they do. They were great guys to work with and for. But that will be up to an independent arbitrator that will have to
first hear their case. The union has filed the proper grievances to get the ball rolling. All 3 had over 20 years on and will be entitled to
collect a pension. Seeing that this is an open webpage other particulars will not be put out by me. Especially their names as they might
want to stay private at this time.

This type of hierarchy appears in organizations just before a collapse. How recoverable from said collapse the hierarchy be seems to depend on it's overall value to the market it functions in.

Rumor has it that all of Rhonda’s lawsuits claiming white chiefs purposely left her to her own devices have been dismissed, thanks to the downtown high rise’s abundance of video evidence. The only remaining suit is that she was unqualified for the position of chief, a position and salary bump she willingly accepted. She is also a primary culprit in the airport scandal, complaining to her friends in power that she wanted a bite of the OT apple even though she(again) wasn’t qualified. Was she punished? No, the fireman and/or LT who were ordered to push her through were. Airport fiasco cost the city a million dollar fine by FAA. Media? WGN Mr. Bradley?

Race issues in the CFD.

The last commissioner. Hispanic. Scored a 50% on his written chiefs exam. He scored a perfect 100% on the oral portion.
He also scored a perfect 100% on the lieutenant AND captains orals. Any high school teacher will tell you that there is no way that testing metrics would yield such disparity between written and oral scores. (even a CPS teacher) Under Rahms watch he steered the CFD directly towards the iceberg. 213 Semper Fraud.
The current commissioner will be forced out in spring when he completes his 63rd trip around the sun.
Ford has made it very clear that each and EVERY position that opens up will be filled by AA’s. Yes, he’s SAID it.
bc walker, is just one of many epic screw ups and in other cases, crimes.
walker failing to report to her supervisory position 2 floors below the fire floor, not bringing her radio with her, not having the knowledge to properly use her SCBA , and getting lost and subsequently taking smoke......is utterly disgusting on so many levels.
Prior to this fire, it was walkers profound understanding that she was not getting her proper share of OT. It is alleged that this is due to her minority status. CFD OT runs through a wizard, much like the great and powerful Oz. However, unlike the Oz computer that belches smoke and fire, the CFD wizard has Telestaff. CFD OT is monitored closer than governors, mayors, and speakers of the house getting haircuts during a lockdown pandemic!
It’s simply GOT TO BE racist.

There is a fire academy instructor that jumped the counter at a Noodles restaurant and made unwanted advances on the female employee.
When the employee and her boss made inquiry regarding a complaint, the instructors boss made a trip to Noodles to “smooth out the misunderstanding.” This occurred in spring. There MAY be some movement on this one. A rigged investigation.

Then there’s the exempt that has a relationship with a underling. The underling is apparently not a one woman boss kinda dude. As a result of his activity with a paramedic, the exempt girlfriend, while on duty and in CFD uniform visited and threatened the paramedic.
Lately , there has been an attempt to promote the very incompetent underling into a position of authority at the fire academy. The underlings resume doesn’t even come close.

There was AA females that recorded a dance video. In uniform and on city time . The video was then uploaded to a social media platform. That episode has been quietly swept away too.

A bc that FAILED the bc test is being promoted to deputy district chief. ($168K). As a lieutenant, his truck was dispatched to a WORKING FIRE extra alarm. The lieutenant had a plane to catch and rather than get on the truck and LEAD his firefighters to the fire, he simply LEFT THE FIREHOUSE. A direct violation of countless rules & regulations, general orders, code of conduct, and contractual obligations. Not to mention the danger to citizens AND his firefighters. The result should have been nothing short of termination. Today. He awaits ANOTHER unearned promotion.
Recently another AA bc slept through a extra alarm that he was supposed to be the incident commander at. As a result of the bc missing his own fire, the firefighter that was on watch was given discipline. THAT firefighter responded to the fire and opened the roof. To be clear. Responding from under the same roof were, 5 members of an engine, 5 members of a truck, 2 members of an ambulance. The ONLY human that managed to stay asleep through the dispatch speaker AND house bells........was the bc.
Slow response and or response to the wrong address is common among some of the bc’s that were promoted with failing scores.
The bc SUV’s have computers that will show this.
All of the above is going NO WHERE.
To even inquire about these things is.........well......damn it!
ITS RACIST.

Remember the Cook Co. bldg fire?? I remember watching the televised “hearings” to find out why things went so bad, so fast. I remember a CFD F/F stating that they were the 1st crew in. As F.D. operations dictate you go in as a “company” together & if one FF has to bail the whole company has to bail. He said that a female LT. with less than 4 years on the FD was “merit” promoted. Probably because she hit the EEOC jackpot. ( the FF didn’t say the jackpot thing just her time on the job) she was a female, black. When the person in charge of the hearing asked her what happened she said that her Engine Co. had to leave as her SCBA was ringing (a warning that there is less than 5 minutes of air left) they asked how far the company got into the bldg. she said they only got to the 3rd floor & she was huffing and puffing and ducking her tank dry. She was so out of shape she couldn’t climb 3 flights of stairs & at the time of this incident had less than a month as an LT. The hearings stopped being televised & that was that. Oh her Engine Co. F/Fs said none of them even were using their SCBAs as there was very little smoke?????? So did she get promoted to chief or is there more than one female who can’t do her job but keeps getting bumped?? Maybe she can be the 1st female CFD Commissioner??? Quinn is puking in his own grave!!!!

This Walker ‘chief’ is also the useless do-nothing who is the bedmate of the Fire Comm. He ordered her (Federal) training records to be doctored while her do-nothing body was assigned to Midway Airport. That way she get in on more overtime! Those falsified records only cost the city a 2 million dollar fine. She be worth it! Perhaps it’s time for Lightfoot to clean house on the Fire Dept.! But, she’ll always proclaim that she ‘didn’t know about it...’

I came on 23 October 95. Within a few years I saw how the job and promotions were. So rather than studying for promotional exams I just decided to start my own business instead.

I was able to retire at age 48 with 20 years on the job (and two years of military). I now closed out 2020 books and earned $280,000 from my side business which is now full time and my pension of $50,000. I am taking in over $300,000 annually. This was during the pandemic BTW.

I did almost the same salary last year.

Guys plan to have an exit strategy.

My advice to all is to start a side hustle and do 20 years and bail.

Chief Walker had plenty of time to study the FD High Rise Order while sucking up overtime at Midway. She assumed that she’d automatically ride the affirminative action train onto the Chief’s test since the dept. ‘has a long history of racism. :(. When she failed that test (along with a dozen of her non-studying gravy trainers), she was convinced that there was a white conspiracy to fail her. She consulted her own math ‘expert’ who conferred that there was funny business with the scoring process and her and her ilk should’ve scored above 70. When the city promoted this batch (done with test scores in the 30% range!), she could have easily turned down this promotion. Her lawsuit contention is that the city prompted her when she was qualified! One day it’s ‘I been harmed, I should’ve been promoted, now it’s, I failed that test and shouldn’t be promoted!’ She’s been a chief for almost 2 years-she could’ve quit at any time if she sensed she had no clue what she was doing. No, it’s the city’s fault!

She must be the chief who wears big beehive wigs to duty. One day her hair is flaming red, a week later it’s bright pink. Nice professional appearance. If she had to go to a smoky downtown fire, there’d be no way that she could get her face mask sealed over her big hair! She’ll probably state that I got smoke inhalation cause you should’ve known that this safety mask wouldn’t seal over my big colorful hair! You wanted me to die!

Can the public finally see the restaurant video of the Academy LT jumping over the counter and forcefully kissing the Noodles employee? Why is the city still sitting on That tape? Whatever happened to the Academy honchos who tried to ‘keep’ the restaurant video when the assaulted employee and her supervisor showed up at the Academy?

Nice to know that there’s surveillance footage of Big Chief Walker casually strolling about the smoke free hallway 5 floors Below the fire that she should’ve been supervising. Still the city’s fault because the White FFs up at the fire didn’t see her and because call Mayday because she’s only a black female. Still their fault because she couldn’t care her own Mayday because she forget her portable radio in her buggy. Still the White FFs/city’s fault because she didn’t have the common sense to know that there’s a loud sounding Pass Alarm attached to her tank harness that would echo at high volume for other FFs to find her in danger ass if she’s in trouble.

Let’s not forget the same Battalion Chief who thought it was more important to catch a plane then respond to a fire with his members is the same Chief who refused to respond as a Fire Attack Chief to a working fire because he was going to be on a Special Duty to the OEMC. This is not second hand information, I heard this myself. How embarrassing. They have taken the dignity out of the rank of Battalion Chief!!!

I’ve been waiting for our trustworthy ‘news’ stations to comment on Ms. Rhonda’s laughable hate crime hoax. Crickets. City Hall will immediately order the SunTimes to whip out their continuous narrative of ‘100 years of racism in the CFD.’ They’ll regurgitate (alleged) BLM banner theft, blackface controversies from 30 years ago, that N word used over a radio, entrance tests/promotional exams that ‘unfairly’ benefit individuals who spent 3 years getting in shape/studying their General Orders, etc. Yes, the ones that don’t want to nothing, body slam a female coworker across a table and get away with it, take up tons of lay up time, huff and puff as soon as they get to a fire and take forever to get dressed/even get on the rig-they’re always the victim and need to be rewarded for their years of doing nothing.

This Walker ‘chief’ is also the useless do-nothing who is the bedmate of the Fire Comm. He ordered her (Federal) training records to be doctored while her do-nothing body was assigned to Midway Airport. That way she get in on more overtime! Those falsified records only cost the city a 2 million dollar fine. She be worth it! Perhaps it’s time for Lightfoot to clean house on the Fire Dept.! But, she’ll always proclaim that she ‘didn’t know about it...’
