Many ambulatory, sane, well-functioning area seniors are still LOCKED IN our area's nursing homes - and have been for 286 DAYS STRAIGHT. The coming of the New Year marks the start of their ELEVENTH MONTH of captivity - in all that time, unable to even walk across the street to mail a letter or buy a candy bar.
In the meanwhile - following the credo acknowledged and carried forward by Chicago's mayor to only stop small groups but to leave large groups alone - people from coast to coast do whatever they please.

We've watched this enough play out on TV and in real life. They haven't met much resistance but I think it will be different now. People are tired of it and if they come down in residential neighborhoods like Beverly and Mt. Greenwood it could get messy, but hey so be it, and we'll just see what happens.
