The sad thing about these statistics is that Chicago may have a lower percentage but when you have a far higher number then everyone on that list to begin with and post a 56%, that's huge. A town like Seattle that had less then 50 last year and posted a 79% puts them still below 100 for the year, while we ended up with almost 800.
The simple answers are racism and capitalism. After we destroy the Economy and complete the book burning things will be a-ok.

The people in this department do not care about your apocalyptic brain drain. You are replaceable. If your brain power were worth anything, then you would have seen this coming years ago and prepared for a career beyond this job. You thought that your gravy train was never going to run out. You kept riding and counting on your sense of entitlement (assigned slow beat, favorable treatment, and bad mouthing other people to make yourself look good). What happened? A simple shift in management and personnel disrupted your perceived sense of entitlement and knocked some sense of reality into you? There are people on the job who have some real brain power and aptitude, no one on this department cares. At least some of the smart people, have created their futures by earning advanced degrees at reputable schools.

As you being a police officer in Chicago, I think y'all have the right idea. With all these "defund/anti-police, pro-criminal/gibsmedat" laws and bull being done. Crime will sky-rocket and the demand for private security will go through the roof as well. And you'll have alot more freedom of action, legal bonded protection, and simple respect than what has already happened to being a "Man in Blue". Never forget Jason Van Dyke .
