Worked in A-6 Homicide in the 70's and the area accounted for a fair amount of the overall carnage going on. in A-6, but never even close to the west side and far south side. A-6 was always #4 from the top in those days with A-1, A-2, & A-4 leading the way. A-6 usually had around 80 - 110 / yr. A-5 sometimes the same or a few more and sometimes less.
What happens to all those businesses and restaurants that go under? Will the government issue a trillion dollar bailout and instead of giving it back they allocate it to their base like South Africa did with farmland. And like South Africa, you will get people with no skills and no desire to work and once this fails, China or Bezos just start buying up blocks and blocks of prime real estate.

020 was the huge district in the 70’s. Went from Montrose to past Howard at on the north. The lake East to Kenzie. When it was broken there was plenty to go around. 020, 924 and 019 each got part of it. Also had no calls than any other district

Glad WGN did it and thank you for outing them, you will always be remembered for your courage and now that you have jumped into the caldron you might as well go all in and break ranks. Stories like this give me hope and maybe people and journalists have had enough and now we realize what we are fighting for is bigger than our own personal interests that we are fighting for our City, State, and our children's future.

Spent over a week in Florida for the holidays. Shopped, dined, golfed, relaxed on the beach. All without wearing a mask. When I told the locals that back in Illinois, I can not eat in a restaurant but can eat in a parking lot tent, they laughed their asses off.

I was little disappointed we didn't top 2016 in murders but we gave it a shot with 794. Not bad considered we lost 2 prime months in the spring due to Covid. Big goals and record numbers for 2021.

Have you noticed when Trump was running the show all the vaccines were ready to go and now that the Presidency is in transition it has slowed down. Illinois even turned down some doses and they are pointing the finger at the Federal Government again.

Which was the Uptown firehouse, early 80s, where the guys made wooden grave markers and stuck them in the "lawn?" (Lawn was hard-packed bare dirt and weeds, so much foot traffic in/out for walk-in first, second, and third aid.) Ambo was ALWAYS out on a run.

Numerous recent retirees have had their Blue Cross health insurance canceled without warning. I retired at the end of October and still do not have health insurance, two months later. No one can explain why this is happening or who is dropping the ball. I never thought I would see the day where the people we rely on just are throwing their hands up with no urgency.
