Dear Parents,
I am writing to inform you that Mr. McNulty has made a personal decision to resign from the Board of Education effective immediately.
Mr. McNulty has devoted 17 years the Chicago Board of Education and most importantly our students. We have appreciated his service and wish him our very best. This was a decision he felt was best for him personally and professionally.
And probably from a legal standpoint if the Illinois Department of Revenue decided he improperly used the Homeowner Exemption on one of his residences. We waiting for his thank you note after every other taxpayer in the city picked up the tab for his residency violation. It should be in the mail shortly.
This is one job opening....and the northside parents who wrote to us said there were at least seven more residency violators at Ebinger. Perhaps a few more Help Wanted signs are in order?

I heard one CPS teacher being interviewed on the radio. She said she wouldn't return to work in the school because the city couldn't guarantee they'd be safe from Covid. Since they teach in Chicago, and are likely faced with violence on a daily basis from students, will they eventually claim they can't return until the City guarantees they won't be attacked in school? Sounds like they have plans to do all teaching remotely in the coming years.
He will go teach somewhere else spewing his poison to a new froup of students.
Does the school board actually investigate residency violations? I find that some of these teachers calling themselves " professionals" pretty far out and disgusting. The mayor wants to break the police union because they stand up for and defend their members but she says nothing about the teacher's union which does the same thing.

He was also allegedly reported to DuPage county for possible voter registration fraud by another SCC commenter.

News is McNulty resigned voluntarily at his CPS investigative hearing. He was represented with evidence against him and sheepishly requested a break. During the break, he conferred with his CTU rep. The rep advised him to resign voluntarily as the deck was stacked against him and it would be better then getting terminated with cause. McNulty came back to the hearing and did.
CPS then issued McNulty a DNH designation to go along with his voluntary resignation.
By CPS policy, after one year and once every two years, he can file paperwork to remove the DNH designation.
But, and very big BUT, to be a CPS Art teacher again McNulty must legitimately move back into the city after one year. (This gives him a gap of one year and makes him a new hire) Very doubtful since Mrs. McNulty wants their young kids to not have a CPS education.
McNulty might be able to get a residency waiver (after waiting a year's time to qualify him as new CPS hire) if Art becomes a need basis area. But, that's doubtful as there's plenty of unemployed Art teachers in the area and his experience qualifies him at a $90K+ salary.

True, Districts look askance at former CPS teachers. They are looked at as having experience, but if they were good, why are they looking for a new position?
In many cases it turned out that their experience was in the chicanery of administrations. Not so much their politics (there are enough nuts in that jar), but the flexibility to deal with whatever the administration demands (thinking socialist leanings= more 'I got mine, you see about yours'). Bounced around between or in the middle of school years, with administrations tending to serve their own interest. Some exCPS teachers are the strictest subs I've ever seen- they've seen it before and know when a student hasn't got an effective parent at home.
This guy won't get a position in a public district, now though, more likely a private school.

I used to love driving around the schools during the say and writing parking tickets on all of the cars that were in violation, and there were plenty of them, and all belonged to teachers. They ignored every sign. I never used to do that but one day I had to answer a call in the school and the principal and teachers talked down to me and I did not appreciate it. So, the hell with them. And, yes, most of the cars had suburban city stickers. I guess the board does not require proof of buying the city sticker?

It's been sent in several times by multiple people and CPS does nothing. North Grand HS teachers who hate this fuck even took pics of his license plates and Wilmette vehicle sticker on his windshield and sent them in.
CPS OIG's report for 2020 comes on Wednesday. Let's see what's in there. Will they have the investigation of two Mather staffers having sex in it? What about the verbal and physical harassment by a male CPS Law investigator toward a female admin asst. that costs CPS $30K in legal fees to an outside law firm? His punishment? Forced to resign from CPS Law and was hired by the CPS OIG's office where he worked before going to CPS Law. You can't make this shit up.

Residency is only required for the employee. However, Rahm lived and worked in DC and his kids went to school there. He also rented his Chicago house to another family. They ruled that Rahm was still a resident of Chicago. How can they ever go after another person for residency when Rahm lived and worked 800 miles away for years? It’s a precedent now. The use of that phrase seems to indicate the evidence was not legitimate. In McNulty's case the evidence was not contrived. "As they had a mountain of evidence against him....." would have been a better phrase to use.

On the days that the employee works they must sleep in the city residence. On their days off, vacations they can sleep in their suburban home. This has been pretty well settled years ago. However, most people cannot afford two homes.There are plenty of city employees that are doing this
Who knows the governmental agency with oversight over the CPS OIGs office?
Is it the US Dept of Education, IL ATG? Or some other agency?
If these residency violations aren't being looked into seriously or the CPS OIG is picking/choosing who they're pinching, that's a problem.
