What is the real backstory on this before I go making donations?
I have read several of the books and worked those years during the scandals. The citizens have short memories and the same for the PO's. With so many retirements, leaving for other departments or finding new career paths, the new PO's do not fully understand the historic and systemic corruption particularly in the city, SA and the courts.
It helps to expose the Big Lie of city government and the media, its failed reforms, consent decrease and defunding the police. History repeats itself if the uniformed allow it to happen again. Know what the liars say and expose the political whores for what they are. Read and know.
The old timer "cowards" have probably been to more police funerals than you have years on the job. Everyone thinks they are invincible in their 20s. You'll grow up one day, kid. Don't worry.

Your whole “last 10 years” ����. Plus/minus a decade OTJ and you still haven’t learned the basics. Go ask anyone who’s ever worked a ghetto district a few 4th of Julys and NY Eve about 1) the relationship between fired projectiles and gravity and 2) how it’s A LOT easier to take anonymous shots at Blue Targets while there’s fireworks as background music.
And here’s an early freebie tip and clue from me to you: robberies trend upwards on Halloween. Why do ya think that is?
The only Joke in this story is Y-O-U.
Spent the bulk of the day setting up, running and cleaning up from my Scout Troop's annual pancake breakfast. All the pancakes (blueberry or regular), sausage, eggs, juice, milk and coffee you could eat for $9 ($8 if you bought your ticket from one of our Scouts beforehand). From 7:30 A.M to 11:30 A.M. we served 655 people. Between ticket sales, raffles, silent auction, donations and sponsorship we likely will clear $8500 to $9000. It's the bulk of our fundraising. We buy tents at around $500 apiece ($99 specials from WalMart will rip apart in the first storm - with Scouts in it ...), rock climbing equipment runs $55/helmet, $60/harness and the rope, of which we have 7, is $1+ a foot. We also pay a good chunk of summer camp fees for the Scouts.
