Nearly 100 asylum-seekers who made a home at a community-run shelter in Pilsen must leave the building by Sept. 3 due to a confluence of bad luck that includes a lack of funding and volunteers.
Officials learned last week of the fate of the building said Lucia Moya, chief of staff of Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez, 25th, whose office initially helped to gather volunteers and stakeholders in the community to open the space as a shelter in May to relieve crowding at the 12th District police station on the Near West Side.
012 had been consistently among the top couple of stations housing one-hundred or more illegals on a daily basis this year. The assorted outbreaks of diseases would keep a third-world shithole on a UN warning list, but the city keeps stuffing them in. And now there are a potential hundred headed back.

It has become abundantly clear that the wizards of sanctuary are resolved to encourage all of these migrants to realize:
1. They fucked up. They trusted the wizards.
2. Things here are as fucked for them as they were where they migrated from.
3. The grass, on either side of the fence, is not greener. It's just fucking grass.
4. The lyrics of the song, God Bless the Child, are the default truth.

I had to make a report in a Chicago Police station. The aliens were sleeping on the floor and their kids playing away from the supposed parents. There was a woman on the floor less than one foot from where I was standing. Bicycles, big wheels. Floors full of dirty blankets. People eating fast food. The place had a foul odor too. I can’t understand why the police put up with this. The have enough to put up with on the streets. I have been in a few suburban police stations and they were immaculate. Shame on the politicians who brought this here.

My contacts in Pilsen informed the goodwill from the volunteers went away quick. Shelter residents too demanding, high expectations, not doing enough to help themselves.

Inez, a migrant from Venezuela staying at the station, also said it’s understood they can be inside from 8 p.m.-8 a.m. and sleep inside, but need to be outside during the day so the station can be cleaned and officers have space to do their work and make reports. They were not told otherwise Wednesday.
“We go in at 8 p.m., and at 8 a.m., you go back outside,” Inez said in Spanish. She did not want to give her last name.
Lying on a mattress outside the station Wednesday, Inez said the police officers were respectful and kind, but she wishes she could be inside all day. Neighbors and volunteers brought migrants cold water, ice and other supplies to try to stay cool.
“The heat is horrible …. it’s the hottest I’ve ever experienced,” she said. “People have been really generous in bringing us water, ice and cold fruit.”
Missy Marren, who lives in the area, was driving by the station on her way back from Target but went back to buy water and fresh fruit for the migrants after seeing them outside.
“It’s a sh**ty situation [and] it’s so hot out here … They did not choose to be here, especially kids,” Merren said.

CHICAGO — A woman was shot on Wednesday afternoon during a robbery in an apartment building across the street from a Chicago police station on the Near North Side. A few hours later, a man was critically injured in a shooting just a block north of the same police station.
In a sparse media statement, CPD said a 28-year-old woman was inside an apartment in the 1100 block of North Larrabee when an unknown person fired a shot, grazing her left hand, around 3:40 p.m.
But CWBChicago has learned that the woman was shot during a robbery, and police are looking for two men.
After the robbery, the woman sought help at the Near North (18th) District station at 1160 North Larrabee. She was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.

If they break the law, we arrest them, if the drive their vehicles without the proper lawful documentation, we arrest them tow their vehicles and write them citations. None of you democrat voting pieces of trash even know what “consent decree” is, much less know how it handcuffs the POLICE from doing their job and protecting YOU the taxpayer, the ones that really matter! To be clear, Alderman Sigcho Lopez did not have permission to house people in this location and took it over without informing people living in the vicinity what he was doing.

Former city employee here. First off, I worked with CPD members for 19 years and still go up and thank any officers I see on the street or patrolling CTA. The gals and guys in blue are the best!
Second, gee, I seem to recall huge open areas at City Hall/County Building. Lots of conference and meeting rooms. A/C, bathrooms, MUCH nicer crash pads for immigrants than the usually crowded and busy CPD district HQs. Probably could clear out several CPD facilities just by putting up folks in the City Council chambers. Mayor and aldercreatures invited then, only fitting they host them in "their" spaces, right?
Heh, heh, oh yeah, that won't happen, it makes too much sense.
