Murder Suspect Out?
Out on a murder charge for almost four years? And now threatens to kill two CFD members:
- Melvin Jordan
was out on bond for first-degree murder when he was arrested on charges
of holding two firefighters at knifepoint in an Auburn Gresham
basement.
Jordan had served 14 years of a 35-year sentence for the 2005 murder of 35-year-old Aaron Dickens when he was granted in a new trial in 2019. His mother posted a bond of $450,000 for him in April of that year.
On Friday, a judge revoked bond in that case – and placed Jordan under a no-bond order in the latest crime in which he is charged. Jordan is now charged with the attempted murder, unlawful restraint and aggravated kidnapping while armed, of two Chicago firefighters.
How about Mom be required to forfeit the bond since her since her son couldn't stay out of trouble pending trial? That might prevent these monsters from future misbehavior.

Can someone tell chief of patrol McDermott that he needs to exit stage left already. The dude sucks. He’s been fucking us since the day he got in there. All he does is cancels days off. Has there been a more spineless chief of patrol than this guy? You know you’re killing us with these cancellations and tiered deployments but you don’t give a shit. You are not the type of leader we need or want. You absolutely suck.

Does the posted bail still get kept/forfeited, if this knucklehead turns up dead?
Based on his current behavior? I think he did the original murder. But that is for a court to decide. Even if it has been twenty years.
Maybe they will make a deal, and roll the new charges into a guilty plea and his agreement to serve the 21 years remaining in his original sentence?
I thought forfeiting the bond was part of the deal... "You give us some $$$, we let you out before trial, if you don't show up for trial or commit more crimes, we keep the $$$"... that was the proverbial stick guarding the carrot...
Prosecutors gotta do their jobs and start filing forfeiture motions on EVERY shithead who posted bond and doesn't show up or fucks up more while out.

Will never happen in Cook Country. Even the Legal Aid Bond Fund gets their money back if someone violates. The secret policies Evans has that supports the criminals are a fcking disgrace.

Isnt this basically saying that mexican people can’t behave themselves? They don’t cancel the entire depts days off for St Patrick’s day, polish Independence Day, Columbus Day. But for Mexicans, obviously according to the people in charge they are an out of control race that can’t be trusted. Sounds like we have some racist leaders.

Although there were well over a dozen reasons why I decided to retire with 24 years on and at 52, the constant never ending cancellation of days off was the deciding factor. I originally wanted to stay until 55 but things were unbearable and hurting my family with me never being around. The manpower problem was created by democrat politicians and to make up for it they punish us.
This is the type of leadership merit gives you. Cannot understand why not every CPD officer is not looking to lateral out of CPD, CHICAGO and ILLINOIS. Wake up people it is only get worse with a low Job in charge.

No other department can you just respond to a crime scene and all you need to do is call EMS and set up crime scene tape. Collect necessary information and that's pretty much your job the rest is done by our trained specialists. I love being the backbone preliminary investigator in patrol. Sure I might never be promoted without a phone call but my job is SIMPLE and all I need to do is call for EMS and secure the scene. The burbs on the other hand are being worked like slaves. Take Palatine for example, those guys are required to show up on their days off for community engagements. This includes midnights officers attending communerty soccer games to kick a ball around at 1300hrs on their sleep time, for free. My buddy regrets leaving CPD! I don't know any department who has unlimited medical. Court appearances are mandatory, no excusals. CPD can suck when it comes to promotions due to merits and cheaters but for the most part it's alright. Stay positive folks.
