Lightfoot, Emanuel and Johnson’s low scores were all below 30%. The only other mayor to come close to that scored 33% in 1979. That’s when a blizzard hit, many streets went unplowed and a few months later Mayor Michael Bilandic’s re-election bid failed.
When broken down by age, Johnson’s approval rating was highest among those ages 18-29 at 32% and lowest among those ages 40-49 at 24%. His disapproval rating is highest among those ages 50-64.

This 'low' turnout is traditional.
40% of registered voters is actually pretty high.
It's the ego tripping of voters that, faced with shit choices, choose to not vote.
Really, this is a bit of evidence that the politicals here don't even bother to commit copeous, abundant ballot fraud, as they seem to rely upon the ego tripping factor of the don't vote, why bother dummies.
Thus, incumbents lazily wallow in their troughs, confident in the dummies actually registered to vote to blow off voting as an exercise in futility, which, by doing this, makes it so.
I suppose the simple pleasure of ousting an incumbent isn't enough motivation to flood the election with votes, all not for the incumbent.
And the numbers on those, at any given election, who ould be registered, and could vote, but are not, are even more depressing.
The thorough domination here, by the you know who party, plus the 'malaise' of both registered and don't vote and not registered that could vote, leaves the you know who party lazy, too lazy to conjure up fraud ballots, cast votes for anyone and everyone who didn't vote, and tamper with the vote counts with impunity.
These polling low approval numbers are just a passing thing, the rabble being presently roused by the spector of their largesse flowing to the migrants, or rather the grifters/grafters milking the taxpayer tit for abundant swag, so the traditional mood of the masses is not massive enough to awaken the siesta addicted lazy politicals.
Imagine, just as fantasy, a voter turnout approaching 100%. Further indulge in imagining a registered voter data base of qualified to vote voters approaching the same.

I left Chicago in 2012 and IL in 2022. Good people who think they are just sticking it out there, staying put because of a misplaced sense of duty or nostalgia, are really just prolonging the process.

I think people are afraid to vote for a number of reasons.

To the original poster's credit, many legal immigrants tend to care SUBSTANTIALLY more than a lot of natural born citizens (the reasons typically amount to NOT wanting what happened elsewhere, to happen here). I realize there are a ton of idiots that vote in Chicagoland, but this state and Chicago-metro is no way as left of center as the elections and polling would tell us.

Voting on the issues only has resulting value when the elections and the electorate are not majority defectives.

The issue was the Roe Vs Wade activated the retards in the left. The Republicans need to stop stepping on their dicks. It wasn't an issue most of the country needed changed and it certainly isn't mobilizing enough voters to illicit positive outcomes. Drop the issue, drop gay marriage nobody cares except gays(aka 5%), but if you push against it you're going to bring out all the maniacs. Let them dummies sleep. Focus on economics, it should have been easy in 22 and even easier in 24. They just have to stop themselves from imploding by talking too much.
North side lakefront whites voted for this. Chicago used to be a city of relatively normal white ethnic families. That world doesn’t exist anymore. Fuck Em, it's their own fault, reap what you sow ! I became a naturalized citizen in the mid 2000s and have voted in every national and municipal election that I've been able to, even knowing my Republican vote was wasted in this town. The amount of co-workers born and raised in this great county that I know that couldn't be bothered or some don't even know it's an election day is disgusting!

Next November will be the States Attorney election when we’re finally free of the disaster called Kimm Foxx. Is anybody credible in the pipeline or does Toni Taxwinkle have another dud ready with the expectation of another win due to voter apathy?

However, you need to understand if the abortion issue was off the table, they’d agitate them with something else. Government financed contraception ring a bell? They based Obamas whole 2012 campaign on that. The fact is that things haven’t gotten bad enough for the white , suburban AWFLs yet. Problem is, it may be too late once it gets bad enough.
