Grappling, attempted leg sweep and then she goes full NHL Enforcer on the resistor, pulling his sweatshirt over his head and grabbing, pushing, knocking him over, while getting in at least two radio calls for assistance.
That's from a while ago, but a much better example of someone who knows what's expected when the shit hits the fan.

I don't know if she could have taken the other guy in that first video all by herself, but my money would be on her. Chances are he might not even have even tried to start with.
Many times I wished I had a female partner like her. To bad I'm not on the job any more because if I would have been there O'boy would have gone to the hospital even if there was video. While I appreciate the “women can do good job too” sentiment, this older video in my opinion, while she did the best she could, it’s a bit misleading.
The guy was a passive resister, and she put all of her might into her “takedown”, while he slow played and didn’t show any aggression at all.
I tip my hat to her as she’s willing to get in the mix.
It’s obvious she has some further training outside of what the department offers and that is commendable as well.
But let’s not pretend that he didn’t actually allow her to do that.
Had he put up a struggle the results would’ve been vastly different.
Kicking them in the back of the knee usually puts them down pretty fast... often with a nice face plant....

NoW that young lady is a bad ass, she obviously trains to protect her self and protect others, which is needed. There are so many places you could train from a gym to a martial arts studio. many of these places are pro police give discounts to the coppers who are cheap. Larry is in phenomenal shape. Why is he not enforcing some type of training some type of physical fitness that Has to be followed this is a disgrace thank God these officers were not injured or killed with their own weapons.
The state police have physical fitness standards many of these police departments that coppers are running to they don’t have the pay they don’t have the liberal sick time which is phenomenal plus unlimited overtime that we pretty much have but they do have physical fitness standards that you have to maintain, which does nothing more than to help you And your family so you could stay alive and be physically fit for a while put those sandwiches down put those crap donuts away

I used to work for cook county department of corrections.If this was me I would have just called a 10-1 like i did in lockup last month. Im not going to get hurt for real, let someone else do it. When Im at work, if i ever show up, im not going to go hands on. If Im there, I need to have my 87 smoke breaks and look for more chrome things to glue on to my wifes truck that I drive. Not work. Allow me to say that MG from 006, who was filmed in the first video fighting alone with that a-hole in front of the liquor store at 79/Halsted, is a solid copper. Having worked with her before and during the riots of 2020, I would partner up with her any day of the week and twice on Sunday. She can hold her own and do her job.
That being said, the coppers from the more recent video? Disgraceful. In the current day and age in which we police, no one would have blamed them had they just let dude go. However, if you decide to go hands on, then you need to either shit or get off the pot. Four on one is normally a very lopsided situation. Hopefully this serves as a wake up call to the four officers involved. Maybe they will get themselves in shape physically and mentally so as to prevent this head-shaker type of an incident from happening again. We work in one of the most violent cities in the country which also happens to have a very anti-police view of things where criminals are emboldened to do whatever they please. I pray those officers wrap their minds around that reality and prepare accordingly or rethink their chosen profession. There are still those of us who have to work the street and depend on our fellow officers for backup.
This is not a knock on female coppers. There are plenty of male slobs on CPD working today whom I wouldn't trust to have my back. Stay safe.

I am a retired female police officer and held my own with the help of my trusty mag light before they banned those!
. I only knew a few females on this job that’ could handle business on the street! One in particular, a female Hispanic old school who knew how to write paper.
Better example, but she got lucky. This guy was weak from years of drug abuse and homelessness.
But it is funny the Twitter account 16th & 17th District who I’ve conversed with frequently, feels like he needs to defend women police officers. He’s still a liberal at heart coming to terms with liberal policies that he indirectly supported and voted for - for years. Liberal policies that weakened the dept to the empty shell that it is today. On the other hand he supports officers even when they’re wrong. He is a friend to officers.
And before you come back at me, use your fucking logic. Two things can be true at once. 1. The dept’s “diversity is our strength” approach to hiring has put the public and officers at risk. 2. You can and should support fellow officers, brothers AND sisters.
She’s clearly not a warrior. Wearing her pretty, freshly conditioned hair down like this is asking for trouble. The wrong person will injure her neck and take her down with one yank.

The first video of that young lady is incredible. She did a great job and totally embarrassed that idiot. The second video has me with mixed emotions. I totally understand why they were so passive , but my advice to those females would be if you’ve committed to locking dude up then due it and document why you did what you did. However , if you’re uncertain about locking dude up then let him run away and cut the paper to the victim. I do not want to see any copper get hurt and when you pussyfoot around with criminals that’s exactly what’s going to happen. This shitty department has made it really easy to not do a thing with their policies, so if you don’t want to get involved you can take advantage of not doing a thing.

I knew a US Army Officer whose job was to study hand-to-hand, who even had a Ph.D. in a related field.
He said that most Grunts walking into an ambush are at best 50% of what they are in training, the well-trained hot rocks about 75% and a rare few with a 90+% response.
I personally walked right into an ambush, RVN 1969, and have the scars to prove it.

Sorry. Not agreeing with you here. She tries to roll him over on his back? (Is that what she's doing?) Or something else? Not really clear WHAT she's doing. But she can't do whatever she's trying to do. He ends up halfway complying because he can't see and rolls over like a scared dog.
This isn't a slam on her in particular. She's what? 5'3" 140 pounds? You can't really blame her for being a shorty. Those are the cards she was delt. And good for her for getting on the job and not being afraid to go mano a mano with this clown.
But let's be realistic and completely honest. Had this guy tried to overpower her, or had another guy 6' 220 pounds with any skill WHATSOEVER tried to overpower her (or body slam her, sweep her feet, or take her down a number of other ways, or disarm her, etc.) he could have likely done it. The four female pos were out of shape, undertrained and uncommitted. Had nothing to do with being a YouTube star. Get control before handcuffing. Disgraceful that we never get Jiu jitsu training. We need it in the academy then a refresh periodically.
In both videos the offense is barely resisting at all. No strikes of any kind were thrown, just passive to slightly active resistance.
I had a female partner back in the 90's. She was 5' 4" about 110 lbs soak and wet. I never worried about her having my back. She could fight like the Tasmanian Devil and I knew, if need be, she wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger. She saved my butt several times by using her diminutive size to talk down some 6'5" monster who would have caused a lot of damage to me and the other Officers showing for the potential 10-1. My point is there are still a lot of good female Officers out. They may not be as big or as strong as a male officer, but size and strength isn't the be all end all.
What happens when there be 75 to 90 %

You need to figure out a way to put her though a copy machine!!! The CPD needs about 3000 more officers like this!! Not being the police I have a question (not a criticism a question) why wouldn’t she have tasered him before going “hands on” as I keep reading in the comments?? Do those tasers operate by wire and placing the taser directly on the body?? Again I think the officer did a great job & I am asking.
As a retired female chgo cop, our fears go much deeper than he might get away, or we will be punched in the face repeatedly. We are legit afraid of being murdered with our own gun and being dragged somewhere and being raped and assaulted. Its a real fucking fear, especially when the shitheads tell you what they will do to you. Ive been threatened with this and it will make your blood run cold. Plus the fact when reported they are never charged!! Ive had to go nuts on offenders to save myself.

Don't put a department or any government in the same sentence of caring. People age differently and handle this job differently. Having merely a physical standard doesn't negate the other immense risks and possibilities on this job. Sure you might slow down, prevent, treat or even slow down issues but you are not stopping them as a whole. It only keeps you as a outer physically appearing good looking individual while your insides, mind and soul rots from the inside from the constant bs. Take a look at soldiers and then cops, identical life issues, all for the "good" of the "department/country" doesn't work anymore, this an't the Cold War, Russia, Cuba and China an't coming.

Before that it was the sap slap. Not to many got up afterward.
I worked with a female officer who was 502 125lbs back in the early 2000's for five years. She had no fear and would get right in the mix the minute the bs went down. I can remember responding to a call for back up on a battery in progress, we were the first car on the scene, there were around 20 men fighting each other on the sidewalk and in the street. Her and I immediately get out of the car at start breaking up the fights, she was right next to me the entire time, no fear, just simple bad ass instinct. The funny part was the unit that called for back up stayed hiding behind the cars and never engaged like my partner and I did. It was just her and I for at least 3 minutes fighting these clowns. Back up finally arrived and gave us assistance and we went in with a wagon full of arrestees. The best part was her nor I were injured at all. The two females that were hiding behind the car eventually both made merit sergeant. My partner had to do 34 years as a police officer because she got on the job at 21. She would have been a better boss than both of those fulls that stood behind the car.

I'm retired too. A woman's greatest fear is to be sexually assaulted. Back when I was working, some shit birds would threaten to rape me.
I would use my trusty baton to fix that attitude.
Today though, you can't do what I did.

The rules on tasing someone are absolutely ridiculous and the taser itself has a much lower success rate than people think, especially on someone with loose clothing. Tasing a passive resistor (someone not actively aggressive or fighting the police) on concrete would be a 6 figure lawsuit and months of hell for the officer.

We were on Tac and looking for the almighty CB, so no we didn't just sit back and wait for the loser, we took as many as we could get cuffed. Your reasoning I have heard many times from dogs. So we know what you were, a big old dog copper.
