Johnson issued his statement about the “far right” during a press conference on Tuesday.
“What we’ve seen is a very raggedy form of right-wing extremism”‘ the mayor said. “Everyone knows that the right-wing extremism in this country has targeted democratically run cities, and quite frankly, they have been quite intentional about going after democratically ran cities that are led by people of color.”
The mayor even said that such “right-wing extremists” aim to create “division and chaos because that is what that particular political party has been about.”
The last time a republican was in charge of Chicago was 1931. The last "republican" aldercreature was that guy up north in the 41st Ward we think. The last county-wide office held by a republican was probably O'Malley in the States Attorneys Office. We might be mistaken, but not by much.
Then Blowie gets nasty:
“It is the same party that wouldn’t accept that President Obama was actually an American. It’s the same Republican right-wing extremism that stormed the capital, it’s the same right-wing extremism that refuses to accept the results of the civil war. It’s raggedy. It’s disrespectful. No one "stormed" the Capitol as the now released videos show Capitol Police opening doors and escorting people inside. those not accepting the results of the Civil War were democrats with their white-robed antifa supporters and a Republican president had to send the US Army to desegregate (corrected) schools when the Dixiecrats blockaded the doors.

No, the last slaves were not officially freed until the 13th Amendment was ratified in December 1865. The Emancipation Proclamation only freed slaves in states that rebelled by joining the Confederacy. The Emancipation Proclamation did not free any slaves held by the Union States. Yes, there were slaves in states that remained in the Union and didn't join the Confederacy.
The exceptions were New Jersey, Kentucky and Delaware, where all forms of forced labor were finally ended by the Thirteenth Amendment in December 1865. Yes, Slavery was legal in Delaware and New Jersey. The slaves in those states were not freed until December 1865, six months after Juneteenth.

I don't agree with your view of MAGA but I wouldn't agree with Brandon's view of BLM either. That aside, Brandon's strategy is obviously to nationalize the local political discussion, same as Foxx did. He knows MAGA is about as popular as genital warts in Chicago, so he's trying to position himself as their foe and, therefore, divert attention from his poor performance in office. Same as when Foxx ran against Trump, even though her job would have nothing to do with what he was doing.
