Scenario #1:
- [Occurred 27 Nov] An off-duty Chicago police officer was the victim of a robbery Monday night, one of at least half a dozen across the city, police said. The father of the off-duty officer said his son was coming home after his shift and was robbed at gunpoint. He said his son is doing OK.
The 33-year-old off-duty Chicago police officer was parking his car in the 3200-block of North LeClair Street when police said he was ambushed by several people who got out of a black Nissan armed with handguns and a rifle. The officer's father said his son had just finished his shift and was coming home when the robbery happened at around 10:20 p.m.
Police returned to the scene overnight finding a badge on the ground, but not the off-duty officer's gun. His father said that was taken.
Even the police are victims of out-of-control crime.

"Seven years of pension down the drain" to paraphrase Senator Blutarsky.

I feel for the officer who was a victim of a heinous armed robbery. This is my biggest fear for my family and myself. I pray for all the good people and the police that they can live to old age enjoying a happy life.
For the officer who had everyone investigating a cruel attempt at hoax. You need to be psychologically evaluated. Also you need to be put before the police board to be fired. Someone could’ve gotten hurt or falsely arrested because of your wrongful allegations and cruelly perpetrated hoax. You give police a bad name. You are the bad officer that makes us all look bad. You are the reason why innocent people wrongfully go to jail or prison. There is no room for you on this police department or any other police department. You are a criminal.

Chicago is so out of control and so violent you have to decide now how you're going to react to 3-5 armed sociopaths running up on you with guns threatening you and your loved ones just to take your car, phone and credit cards (and possibly your life) for the fun of it. The days of carrying a 5-shot snubbie or 7-shot subcompact semi-auto are over in this city. And remember...these thugs that robbed the officer have just learned an important lesson: The CPD is too afraid to draw down if they are cornered and outnumbered. Won't be long before they ambush on-duty uniformed officers and take their squad car, ET van or take their female partner hostage by just flashing a rifle and a couple of pistols. Many on this job might as well sell their handgun back to Acme.

If officer had shot at his muggers during his mugging, it's likely that CAPA would have charged it was a wrongful shooting.

This makes no sense. I wonder if it is an over reach by kim foxx to prosecute. She was extremely reluctant to prosecute Jussie but jumping at the chance here. So what if the neighbor’s camera didn’t catch it. It could have happened in the yard or garage or anywhere else and the perp could have left outside of camera view. Weird situation. If true she made it up, why lie about a robbery that would net you nothing? I imagine there’s much more to the story.
She will get her pension $ back but will have to pay taxes. If she could have hung on for 10 years she would have collected when she was in retirement age. What was she thinking? Such a dumb move

Well, insurance doesn't usually cover cash.
The officer that was robbed it could happen to any of us! The criminals who lied leapin Larry put her stupid ass in a no pay status don't be scared we don't want her either! In the 1980's a female copper got caught off duty shop lifting she called fop and Harold kunz former VP of fop after she asked for a lawyer "we represent the good guys criminals like you can get your own!" Well John what you thinking use our money for this or tell her goodbye she deserves no representation from us!
I see the CPD has the highest standards when it comes to hiring police officers.
I like when cops were like Reed and Malloy, intelligent, fair, in shape, cared about their city.

When I was on the job I always made it a point to take different routes for about the last mile before I hit my house to make sure I was not being followed. When I got out of the car I would make sure the area was clear and move quickly to my house. I was prepared for trouble and luckily never got hit. Be careful out there and rehearse in your mind what you will do if you end up in a similar situation.

Off Duty, a CPD with a 5-shot S&W ( and a Speedloader) is a grave disadvantage if attacked by People ( or Folks) or simply Members of the Community.... out in rural Illinois with spotty Cellular coverage.... on a snowy, foggy, windy ( blowing snow) day.

Two, (2), short barrel (3" or under), 6-shot, .357 magnum/.38 +p, Nyclad hollow points, with 2-3 speed loaders for both.
IF you are in that wrong place at that wrong time.
