Exempt Recommended to be Fired?
We hadn't heard of this investigation and it looks like it occurred during The Hiatus. We weren't really monitoring anything during that time - the blog was down, email was inactive, we were battling with the Department over our own bodily autonomy. Good times!
But this investigation would have been blog posts for days....weeks even, seeing as how the end result was a recommendation that the Department fire an actual commander. Here are pages two thru five (click for larger versions):
That's a Separation recommendation for the infamous Commander Patty Casey. We can count on one hand the number of times we heard of that....and still have fingers left over. And a Reprimand for Chief Deenihan at the bottom of the last page?
Someone posted a link in the comments, but we can't find it at the moment. It's only a seven-page summary and the redactions are all by the Department, so it's a public record. (UPDATE: Here's the link - it's a self-downloading .pdf file)
How did this one end? Appeals? Resignations? Retired-under-investigation and therefore, unable to get credentials? Because a quick search of the accused reveals all sorts of post-retirement jobs and Department praise with no obvious links to this investigation. Looks like someone got their retirement star anyway.

Deenihan was a balless weasel who only cared about himself. Too afraid to stand up for the detective division and allowed a ton of merit clouted supervisors into the D-Unit who then ran it into the ground. He was too afraid of losing his spot. All these "he's a great guy" people, please tell me what was so great about him?? The detective division has been destroyed by the morons he allowed in to run it. Some of whom can barely spell their names. Casey took the hit for Deenihan, he completely threw her under the bus to save himself. And when things got tough under Supt. Brown, Deenihan bailed out and ran to Google. Yeah, he really cared about the department. Showed a lot of loyalty there. Sure he did. Oh, and to show you what a box of rocks this guy was, he once announced at a press conference about how they had a major breakthrough on a particularly difficult "heater" murder case by stating that a female witness finally had decided to do the "right thing". Thanks to his stupidity in dimeing out the witness to the media, she was shot a short time afterwards. Ask a certain female detective in A/4 ML about it. Yeah, Deenihan sure was a "great guy"! bwwaaahahahaha.....

If you look up the officer's information via the clear system alpha name, star number or employee number then you can see their seniority date.

Came across PC when working A5, she would be the first to say she was given special treatment you’re just jealous you weren’t. PC was given an awful hand to work with in life but so were many others. That’s because she was trying to interfere with an investigation. A certain Sgt. F should have been disciplined for failing to take action on a high profile case and Casey was trying to make it go away.
Sounds like she was protecting a copper for being jammed up. The question is what the infraction actually was that the original log was generated for. We all know bad optics can make a justifiable action worthy of punishment in the court of public opinion.

She had what questions were going to be on the test.

But I guess it’s easier to just drag everyone’s name through the mud. What a Brotherhood we have here!

There's audio, video, witnesses, supervisors on scene and in the station, IAD, exempts, MAIU, Area dicks, CFD, Forensic services, etc., all involved. They couldn't cover this up if they wanted to.

Interesting that a witness who was involved in the investigation was allowed to make a determination on it. This is a bigger issue than whatever nonsense that Casey was involved in.
Dear "Real Police"...
The administrative law that makes it compulsory for a driver to provide breath/blood/urine upon request by a police officer in Illinois, when the police officer has reason to believe that the person is DUI, also has a section that makes it compulsory to provide breath/blood/urine when a person is involved in a crash involving GBH or death...regardless if there is a reason to believe the operator is DUI. This is to say that, since a person died, there would have been a request for breath/blood/urine even if the operator was not suspected of DUI. Usually MAIU officers are responsible for this, however there are officers in districts that have this form set, and have administered it at their request.
I know, officers that are aware of this are likely no longer the super cops grabbing the hype with a rock in his sock, but knowing these things my prevent you from making conspiracy theory comments, and coming off as a J/O willing to throw a copper under the bus due to your ignorance.

Allegation #7 against Casey is SUSTAINED. The allegation is that she gave a false statement to BIA when asked "why no disciplinary action on the SPAR" she answered Denihan told her it was OK to put "no disciplinary action - violated noted"
she got nailed for making a false report. Pretty sure this is a Rule 14 violation - that's why, I am guessing, they wanted to fire her.
Allegation #1 against Denihan is thAt he stuck his nose in on a CR# and determined to issue the Sgt a SPAR. Guessing again - a SPAR can either be "no discipline - violation noted" or something more severe, like a 3 day suspension.
Mad Dog Madden has never learned how to relax.
Was this an “accident” or a uninvestigated dui that is now going to be another black eye for cpd? She was, after all, leaving the Christmas party.

There's audio, video, witnesses, supervisors on scene and in the station, IAD, exempts, MAIU, Area dicks, CFD, Forensic services, etc., all involved. They couldn't cover this up if they wanted to.

You must be fairly new with the department. I’ve seen stranger things happen on this job. If she’s heavy as whale shit nothing will happen to her! 5 years in callback collecting a free check watching POD cameras. Then right around the 20year mark cleared of all allegations/charges and transition into retirement. Department is more corrupt then ever. During my time at the academy I’ve witnessed multiple recruits fail urinalysis for hardcore narcotics(think heroine) and those officers were never fired or even disciplined. All of us involved knew to not make waves. Snelling never said a word either.
if you were working in the good old 17dst the "land of broken toys"when JD and pc were supervisors on the first watch. It was a wild time with JD and PC worked the streets and managed the watch. PC calling for calls for the majority report for crimes about to be committed made for memorable times. And JD and her famous desk crew on days and the medical/los vegas trip incident. And to top it off 17dst lead in the city in excused court appearences becasue JD would approve them. So hearing PC doesnt suprise anyone. And yes the lt exam at home was a good one too. This is why the CPD is the way it is and will take a real time to change.
File a grievance for people that separated from the dept and came back with same hire and senority date. Under old contract they didn't pay into pension and cashed. We should all grieve it. Why even support these rehires and worthless cry babies. Sucks you couldn't live with yourself pushing a nice car in a nice town or agency to know your not CPD anymore? Stay where you are in that supposedly green pasture.
