Who is Connected to Whom?

First, the amusing part of this story:

  • A Chicago man turned the tables on an armed carjacker who forced him out of his car at gunpoint Tuesday morning: He walked into his nearby home, fetched his own firearm, and forced the carjacker out of his vehicle at gunpoint. That’s according to a Chicago police report documenting the arrest of 18-year-old Darrius Berry.

Officers responding to a call of a “citizen holding an offender” in the 9400 block of South Laflin arrived to find the 39-year-old carjacking victim holding Berry at gunpoint in the street at 6:28 a.m., the report said.

They detained Berry and asked the man what happened. He explained that he was sitting in his 2021 Mazda CX9 when Berry walked up to his driver’s window and pointed a gun at his head. “Please give me the keys,” Berry told him, according to the report. “I need your car. I’m sorry, sir… Go in the house.”

A rather polite carjacker. His parents must have raised him right!

  • The victim complied, handed over his keys, and entered his house.

Once he was inside, he grabbed his own gun. Then he went back outside. Berry was sitting behind the steering wheel of the Mazda with a firearm on the passenger seat, the report said.

Now the REALLY entertaining part:

  • Judge Susana Ortiz detained Berry at the request of prosecutors.

This piqued our interest, because we remembered something from the excellent reporting done by the CWB blog the other day over the fire fighter shooting:

  • Judge Susana Ortiz called the allegations against 34-year-old Omotayo Kassim an “anomaly” as she sent him home with instructions to surrender any weapons and his firearms licenses.

An "anomaly" with a previous Extradition Warrant from Colorado by the way.

But more importantly, in the first case, a carjacker who committed what Cook County has been treating as a property crime - while brandishing a gun - with little serious prosecution/enforcement is held without bail....

versus

a CFD employee who allegedly got his job via a blackmail tape of a high ranking (THE high ranking?) fire official, who actually fired a gun into the face of an alleged traffic accident offender and may have paralyzed him for life (if he lives) and the judge cuts him loose with an ankle monitor?

Some enterprising reporter ought to be asking what is the judge's connection to all of this.

A daring reporter or shark lawyer who wants to represent the family of the man who is clinging to his life needs to ask….
Why was the shooter hired?
Who authorized a multiple felon with warrants active in another state be hired on the Chicago fire dept?
Who did the background investigation?
Why? When?
What would prompt the highest official to urge that person to be hired?
Who holds the Ring camera footage and what is that persons connection to all of this?
Why aren’t cpd investigators or detectives asking these questions or are they?
What has been uncovered so far?
How is this judge connected?
Why does the fire dept highest official live outside the city?
Does ptsd extend to all other city employees enabling them to live in the suburbs as well?
Can a class action suit be filed?

Where there is smoke there is fire.

I am glad that 18-year-old Darrius Berry was arrested and taken into custody uninjured. The citizen did the right thing by not shooting him, no matter how immediately satisfying killing Darrius could have been.

Who knows? If the carjacker was really that polite? If he was so determined to not frighten victim? Maybe he is salvageable?

Typical Chicango Dem O Ratic bullshit ! No investigation just another cover up like the teacher that brought a gun into the ball park that discharged, and hitting the teacher sitting next to her ! She had a power burn on her abdomen that clearly showed that she had a pistol on her person, and not a dam criminal charge lodged against her !

Fatso prickster signed the safe-t-act into law. His stupidity is starting to bear fruit. No rule of law when granting bail it has now become some type of ambiguous popularity contest when making decisions about bail and who is actually a "threat" to the public.

SCC, in comstat they were talking about the new unit that’s going to handle looking at TRR’s. It’s a civilian unit some are former PO’s some have never been before. How are we going to have more civilian oversite looking at TRR’s from people who have never been the police before or haven’t been the police here in Chicago.

This is the unit that is going to replace the WOL from approving TRR’s. Been talked about previously on this blog. It’s coming very soon. WOL’s will no longer be involved in TRR’s.

That was definitely a heartwarming story that would’ve been even better if he would’ve took the scum bag out of the car and gave him a dirt nap, thereby curing the scum bag forever of his illness. Glad he didn’t do it inside the car, because that would ruin it with all the scum from this guy’s body all over the place God bless this man.
