Carjacking Avoided
- Sources tell ABC7 that an off-duty Chicago police officer opened fire while an attempted carjacking was in progress in Lakeview.
Police said a 51-year-old off-duty officer was driving north in the 2700-block of Halsted when he saw two people running south toward his vehicle, one of whom police said had a gun.
The off-duty officer got out of his car, pulled out his gun and fired one shot, police said. The two people then fled. No injuries were reported.
Too bad about the miss, but well done being situationally aware.
Enjoy your thirty days off the street and you'll get them next time, because unfortunately, you have four-years until age fifty-five and the odds are, you'll get another chance.

No practical way to shoot and scoot exists for police.
So, likely a miss, paying heed to background, is a wise choice.
Now, as for civilians not restricted to these factors, well, the goal is for no one to ever know.
PLENTY sgts have left before the 55 mark and there will be more that do! Get another job, pay for the insurance out of pocket, marry some broad that’s insured (least desirable), jump on your wife’s insurance, or for you veterans that qualify, hit up the VA. Don’t hold yourself captive over medical insurance. There are other ways out of this hellhole!
Note that this study was first published in 2016!!!!! Yet no MSM or politician have used it to counter police bashing in the ensuing years.

Growing up in El Campo as a little kid I developed a perfect aim with my slingshot as I shot birds in mid air. I remember feeling sad after doing it. I would have never imagen that my skill would have come in handy as a police officer when I had to use deadly force two separate incidents on assailants to protect my partner and myself. When I gunned those two perps I didn't fell a thing and always wonder why. I came to realized the birds were creatures of God and the humans creatures of the devil.

Roll me a bus and ESU over to the bodega! The perp that escaped from the 16th precinct just stabbed a hot dog vendor and a rabbi. I'm reading him his rights as I'm putting him in my cruiser. Call the DA so they can meet us in the captain's office back at the station house with the perp's lawyer.
The Sgt. should be called to account for shooting at the mobilely-challenged CPS students. Probably just trying to escape a food desert. If they had $ to vacation on Florida they would not be in this predicament.
