Why are blue cities such hotbeds of crime?
- The "Black Mayors' Coalition on Crime" gathered this week in Memphis, Tennessee to discuss the dangers of crime across the US, as well as apparent solutions to the growing threat. The question is, was the meeting really about stopping crime, or, was it all about maintaining optics and making the public believe crime is going down when it's not?

Perhaps because the event is in itself an admission that crime is rising; a reality which Democrat representatives have tried to deny for the past few years. Another reason may be because the solutions being discussed are not something the voting population would agree with.
In the interview below the Mayor of St. Louis, Tishaura Jones, mentions that gas stations and convenience stores attract a high rate of crime and asks how the business owners can be 'held accountable' for this, rather than how they can be protected from it?
Whoops!! There it is again - sue Kia for easy-to-steal cars, sue Glock for easy-to-convert pistols, sue business owners for being too easy to stick up.
No such thing as holding a criminal accountable!
Oh, and the reason the media and democrats (but we repeat ourselves) are claiming "crime is down" is because the FBI (tools of the left, one and all) have recently granted some sort of "waiver" to cities and the Uniform Crime Reporting statistics.
The stats for 2023 aren't due until....2025 or so. After the election. So while "reported crime" might be down, it's because the numbers don't actually exist.

So, gas stations and quickie marts are hotbeds of criminal activities.
Sounds like a call for these businesses to hire themselves some security, from the approved list of trustworthy security firms.
Which list will be gleefully provided by the democrats concerned.
And effective solution would be to:
Immunize said businesses from all civil liabilities and criminal laws.
The former by declaring these businesses as vital to their communities and thus blanket civil immunity is warranted.
The latter by declaring these businesses as default self-defense locations, declining to prosecute, nay, to even investigate as possible non self-defensive actions.
Granted, one might want to never patronize these businesses, for caution that if you piss off anyone employed therein, you just might get self-defensafied. With no ghetto lotto for blood relations to parasite off your corpe.

Well clearly they're asking for it, like a woman who wears revealing clothing is asking to get sexually assaulted. I thought victim shaming was a no-no.
Before coming to CPD I worked for a small suburb. They made an ordinance requiring all but 2 businesses that had been grandfathered in, be closed by midnight.

Add to that 911 will not talk to you unless it is an emergency, granted but if you call 311 to report a crime you have to listen to a bunch of bull$hit about city services first then you get an operator who is stuck on postal speed. And do you know they removed the district and unit phone numbers from the city website. Another reason crime is down if you are tired of trying to report it so you just give up.

Obviously, operating a convenience store or gas station in a Dem city is, in legal parlance, an “attractive nuisance”.
Like other “attractive nuisances” such as having:
-a backyard swimming pool without a protective fence, or
-an unguarded trampoline, or
-an open sewer, or
-a car with a radio, or
-a house with a TV, or
-a wallet with money, or
-nice things.
Attractive nuisances are trouble, especially amongst some voting blocks.

Hey SCC here's the answer to lower crime. I recently discovered Dr. Currie Meyers on a radio show. Let's keep getting his name out there so people can begin to realize what city and state government is doing with UCR numbers. Dr. Currie said there is only 52% reporting from Illinois to the FBI with little to no reporting from our biggest cities they stopped reporting.
I think Tishaura is on to something. Now that we know the root cause of the crime just move these places about five miles away from the city. Tishauraland will be crime free again.

911 is for emergencies. Why would you want them to waste time with non-emergencies? They're already tied up with enough ghetto nonsense for fake emergencies, like tummy aches and Lil Deonte being disrespectful. Now you want 911 to listen to you talk about your admitted non-emergency? For what? Call 311 and wait, or realize that maybe you don't care as much as you're pretending to.

It's (D)ifferent for some people.
From what I remember, the FBI never used Chicagos UCR reprting ...they didn't trust them.
When was the last time you heard or saw a problem solved in a "blue" city or state. Never, just non-profits and "Blue Ribbon Panels" appointed to solve the problem. There is no money when problems are solved. So, this gathering of goofs will trade slogans and high five one another at the end of this back slapping event. Nothing that actually solves any of the problems will work. Not sure any of these brain trusts could actually come up with a real solution because they would need to identify some the actual causes, and we all know that will never happen. Oh, there may be an "Uncle Tom" conservative that mentions a real solution, but he/she will be called out and a total disregard of anything he/she says. Just my humble opinion based on 7+ decades of living and watching the show.
As for our naivety when our new leather squeaked and our pants had white stripes, we thought we could help save the world. But, after a while we realized we were an armed occupational force. Not much has changed, but with much less control now days. 9 sworn on the street in the 1st District on Thursday night???? 13 beats and 8 street officers and 1 supervisor, NO wagons. Got the hint??
